Been awhile since my surgery

For those who probably don't know what im talking about:

So it's been so long, lol.

Jaw is mostly healed from that ordeal. After my jaw was surgically snipped and realigned a bit, I had to go without solid food for 6 weeks. Liquid diet was mostly Ensure and protein shake smoothies. Then tomato and chicken broth. Then on to mashed potatoes and very soft noodles. Finally cod fish, and slowly back to other softer but more solid foods.

I guess it's been 5 months since then. Average recovery time for this surgery (bilateral sagittal osteotomy) is about 12 weeks. I'm mostly recovered. I say mostly because while my jaw can probably handle harder foods without risk of hurting, it feels incredibly awkward. I got so used to softer foods that I prefer them now. I can only have crunchy stuff if it isn't too tough to break with my teeth.

Also, my lower jaw still feels partially numb. At least it's not like before where I had no feeling at all lol.

I love angel hair pasta, fish, potatoes, and softer pizza :D. Still doing my peanut butter banana smoothies as well. It also felt nice to finally have romaine lettuce on a freakin sandwich for once. Feels like forever since I had greens.

Maybe one day I will be able to eat anything without trouble...? Or will I forever keep this preference for softer foods?

SEIFU-SENPAI!

A lot has happened since you have been gone eyes But I hope you're feeling better! Be sure to keep documenting how you feel and showing it to your doctor so he can make sure everything is doing good! [slayer-jinx-catface]

Eventually, Yes.

However, it will definitely be after stretching your muscles a bit more. Try going up from softer foods, Say Hamburgers, To tougher foods, like Steak

Here's my opinion of what you should do to get used to it. get yourself a ton of bubble gum and just fill your mouth with it and just nom away until you cant stand it anymore. then do that again once a week until it feels normal. you're welcome.

So glad to hear you're doing better =D

I think your body will eventually adapt to harder foods again, but there's nothing wrong with a preference for softer. I still don't like crunching hard carrots after going for a few years without them while I had braces. It's crazy. As long as you've got foods you enjoy and you're healing well, that's all that matters. I might need that smoothie recipe though....does it work with other fruits?

Good to hear you're feeling better :D

You should play some League with us when the new runes come out next month. I haven't been too into League recently but the runes look like a really nice breath of fresh air which has gotten me interested again

I'd say give it another month or two, then get a check up if it's still being awkward
