now that skt was 3-0'd by the same team, i don't feel so bad for rooting for LZ

You want unlucky, look at TSMs usual groups.
2012, against 2nd Place Azubu Frost in Quarterfinals 2013, against winner SKT in groups 2014, against 2nd place Star Horn Royal Club in groups INTO 1st place Samsung White in quarters. 2015, Legitimately looked bad. This was the year that lane swaps were a huge thing and TSM for some reason just refused to help Dyrus out just leaving him to die over and over as he got 3-4 manned. 2016, against 2nd Place Samsung Galaxy. 2017, Legitimately looked bad. A lot of questionable picks focusing on late game pressure with no way to stall there allowing opposing teams to get an early game lead and snowball from there. TSM showed none of their domination in any lane that allowed them to win the NA LCS. Bjerg and Sven never controlled the jungle.
As a bonus fact 2014 and 2017 were the only years that TSM did NOT get both a Chinese and Korean team in their group.
