I feel it's important to note that this punishment was on the 28th of October, and you had previously received a 1-day ban for mature content, a 3-day ban for politically-charged insults, and a friendly warning after the 3-day ban for insulting behavior which we did not punish -- all within the same month. When we see a consistent pattern than does not change despite multiple chances in a small time period, we do escalate the punishment.
So no, calling someone stupid is not as bad as using hate speech, by any means. When you've received multiple strikes and we do not see an improvement in behavior, however, the warnings get a bit more severe.
