Am I the only one?
Maybe this is a discussion players and/or Riot employees have already had (if so, could someone direct me to the thread?), but I wonder if I'm one of very few people who want rotating modes like Poro King and Ascension to come back?
I understand that currently they've been working on a more permanent mode through Nexus Blitz and have had ARURF and such, but I feel like it's been a really long time since we've seen either Ascension or Poro King. Were they just not popular enough to stick around? Are they ever going to return as rotating? Or are they pretty much gone for good?
Personally I loved both of these modes and looked forward to them coming up. Especially a few years back when it was like every-other-weekend! I'm a more casual player and don't really play ranked at all so maybe that's why I'm more interested in these than the average player, but I enjoyed how it was slightly less competetive because of how somewhat chaotic it was, how you could pick and ban champs instead of getting random ones, and how it made less viable champs in SR more viable through these modes! It was something fun and different to do! I could consistently get a group of friends together to play as well which made it that much more enjoyable.
Ascension was a weird and new kind of competition, where it wasnt necessarily all about kills, yet teamfights and kills alone were still a viable strategy for those looking for it. Poro King was great because it added interesting mechanics to work around by giving everyone mobility through Poros and To The King, but also somewhat leveled the playing field by removing typical summoner spells as an option!
TL;DR: I'm wondering if anyone else out there misses these game modes as well and looks forward to them maybe coming back? Or if anyone/a Riot employee knows the fate of these game modes?
Thanks for any and all responses!
