The new Eternals model is like driving a Porsche into a poor neighborhood..

At least that is what it feels like to me. As a whale I personally don't enjoy flaunting paid items that the majority of players are unable to obtain. I don't feel good about it & I don't feel like I really achieved anything.

I can't justify driving a Porsche in a poor neighborhood for enjoyment because they have access to a 1990 Ford Taurus when their taxes come once a year and I can't justify flashing a unique Eternals emote every time I thread-the-needle with a Morgana stun because poor players get a generic common Eternal once a year, when I say "justify" I mean justify to myself.

I posted a week ago about the large amount of money me & my wife spent on this game.

I can rationalize and enjoy playing my Ultimate Skins or even my Mythic skins I got with the event pass because in my mind that's more reasonable. Assuming that my income was limited but I had time to play a lot I could probably afford to buy the event pass for a Mythic champion that I really wanted and grind out the tokens - so I personally don't feel bad using those skins, plus skins can be earned in a chest - however rare the odds might be it IS possible.

Don't get me wrong - I know many players are going to say "But Kitten... this is just cosmetic items so who cares if people buy them?". You are 100% correct. They are cosmetic and I personally don't care if someone else has them and I don't. With that said I am just saying that, as a whale I do not enjoy buying items that are impossible for f2p players to obtain or items that are such a horrible value that I can't see any low-income player being able to get them (like if I insisted on getting the pink furyhorn with the cones - that's beyond most low-income players to get and would cost at least $100).

So personally I won't be buying the unique Eternals. Sure, I might use my BE to get the common ones at release, but I won't be buying those either. The value just isn't there, at all. There are a number of chromas that I still want (pink frozen prince mundo anyone?) before I'd feel the need to spend money on something like this.

You want my money for eternals Riot? Sure - I'd love to give it to you. First add uniques to the emporium as well - hell charge 10k BE if you must but at least give those impoverished one-tricks a chance to get the unique for their favorite champ.

Then I'll consider buying unique Eternals.

ALSO on a side note, your not getting any praise for these changes Riot. I hope that your new way of doing things isn't going to be to "test the waters" and see how hard you can fuck the community before you cave and come up with something that is slightly more reasonable.

This should have been your starting point all along. I'm guessing that you knew people would have a problem with even this model though so instead you came up with the most extreme version of Eternals possible so that when the community got upset you could go back to your original plan and "give them a win". In your mind it's win/win - Players will see you as reasonable and good at listening to the community and you will still make money from a very small amount of development work (I'm an Engineer so I have a decent idea of these things). I think your underestimating the intelligence of your fans.
