My thoughts on this whole PAX/DNZ matter
First off, I know this will be lost in the abyss of posts similar to this, I just wanted to express my thoughts and see what you all think.
Riot has really shit the bed this time, this is just one hot mess they put themselves into. In regards to the PAX "female only" meeting, that whole thing in general could have been avoided. Why try to make something more gender equal and exclude any at all males in the community? Just seems like a PR disaster from the start really. Truth be told, I think they could have done it very differently, not sure how truth be told, but like I just said, it smells of a riot brewing and just waiting to happen.
I am all for equal rights, for females to be more accepted in communities such as e-sports, work places, or even here on forums like these. but the way riot handled this at PAX was just unacceptable, sure I may get called a "manbaby" and get told to jump into a jet engine, but maybe, just maybe, there are some men out there who have good ideas to help causes such as this. To exclude a whole gender kinda makes their whole thing redundant in my opinion.
As for DNZ; Riot what the fuck are you doing? why are you letting this happen? to let this child talk like this to YOUR community that basically helped shape your company into what it is now? Even I am less inclined to play this game again after seeing how little you will act on your own employees who treat your playerbase like shit (not that I really played much to begin with lately, I was debating it however with the new thresh shin out as it looks sick as hell). As another thread said, when someone did this over at ANET (GW2) thew were gone in almost an instant and because of it I bet you 90% of the playerbase in GW2 has forgotten about it already and the whole thing blew over. Hasn't there been rioters in the past who have been fired over much less? (if you can remember please remind me as I forgot, but this is my point with the GW2 scenario).
DNZ has no real reason to talk to people such as this, if he was just some independent person just voicing his opinion it wouldnt have mattered much, but its really the fact he is doing it while representing Riot. Sure he has opinions, we all do, but sometimes we shouldn't voice those opinions, and he is a prime example of this.
Truth be told, Riot should really look more into this, because as the days goes on with no real motivation to fix what they have done to themselves, Im sure they will find themselves in a deeper hole than they were before they started focusing on E-sports over their own player base. Riot needs to do something about this before they fuck up harder than they already did.
