sorry i have a good relationship with my mom and dad and wasnt kicked out when i was 18, i pay rent okay? i have a job as an artist, and i can guarantee you i make more money than you. honestly its fucking annoying when people ask me how old i am (28) when they find out i live with my parents and make fun of me. how exactly is it a bad thing? i get to see and spend time with the people i love the most all the time, rent is cheap and it goes to someone i dont mind giving money to rather than some greedy cheap. but yeah haha lol laugh at me because i havent moved out. so go ahead, throw all your money away being "independent" while i sit on tons of cash i get to save living with my parents.

the thing that people assume when you say you live at home is that you have no freedoms because you're under your parents roof. be glad you have parents who care about you. some of us dont. some of us dont even have parents. some of us dont even have family.

so to that end it's just people who are jealous or envious of your lifestyle. looking for ways to make themselves feel like they matter.

there's nothing wrong with saving money and having a reliable family.

Who told u that u can't live with ur parents .. or make fun of u ??? They r ur parents after all .... it doesn't matter if u r 4 or 28 yo ... u'll still betheir son ..FOREVER !!... and u can be responsible and independent tho u live with them.. and i'm pretty sure there are no parents on earth that won't love their son to live with them

The fact that this has so many upvotes is a sad commentary on how we have evolved as a society.

When I was growing up in the 80s/90s (I'm 39), my parents and those of the previous generations taught me the value of independence, a good education, self-reliance, etc.

I've owned my own home for many years now and I couldn't imagine how embarrassing that would be to bring a date or my friends to my parents home to hang out. Not to mention the perception that I'm mooching off of other people... as a man that just insults the very fiber of my being and how I was raised.

It might be a different story if my mother was severely ill and required me or my brother to be around and the cost of permanent hospital care was too high, but that's not the case with the OP.

I'm sorry, but seriously what the fuck is wrong with this Millennial generation?

Is this a serious post or a joke? Because I can think of a few countries where young people can't live on their own, let alone have a family with another person and are forced to live with their parents because of the financial crisis. Making fun of those people is a dick move, and those who do so need to rethink their lives.

it is that backwards mentality that if you're living with your parents it means you most likely never got laid or had a girlfriend and you have not experienced life sorta ideology, stupid people assume the ultimate goal in life is ditching your roots and starting a family they think it's a must and consider you a loser if you don't, they think they know what's good for you they know at all, anyone can chose how they spend their live and it's nobody's business
