New rank, server transfer issue?

Hey guys, last season I was placed Iron 3 and climbed to Gold 4 on EUW. I transferred to NA for this season as I moved to NA irl, my first placement put me into Iron 2 and after going 6-4 I finished placements Bronze 4.

Is this normal for this season, initial placement was more than two tiers below last seasons finish. I feel like my transfer just completely disregarded last seasons finish and I have reverted back to the beginning. Grinded so much last year from Iron to Gold and for what, to get reset back to Iron? Some thing isn’t right here and I wonder if this is a transfer problem.
