Is there a rule that Support always have to go bot lane to sup Marksman ?

Title.

I find that supporting top laner is much more efficient than supp bot lane in marksman vs marksman battle of attrition. As support I want to do as many hits in shortest possible time to upgrade Frost Fang, which top lane vs melee is much better to do than bot lane. As Zilean i give my passive Xp to team mate, so technically we don't lose Xp in 2v1 top lane.

It's kinda meta breaking, so is there any official rule that i can't go sup top lane , as some people call it "trolling" and "report troll" ?

I mean, its a dick move to do it without saying anything, or to do it anyway even when your team tells you not to.

So, ask, and if they say no, don't do it. You'll just piss people off by ignoring them/not informing them.

If you suggest this to your team and they are strongly against it but you do it anyway, that would be breaking the rules. If they're cool with it, then you're good.

The reason that supporting an ADC at bot lane is meta is that they are weak early but strong late. Protecting them during lane phase allows them to reach that late game power more quickly, safely, and reliably.

Most marksman do not solo lane well, and since everyone plays bot lane duo you would leave your adc in 1v2 lane if you decide to go top. Most top laners solo lane extremely well and prefer to get solo xp since they are more dependent on levels than marksman. So it is overall very inefficient to support your top laner.

literally support is only spot that gets told sit here or we'll nerf the shit out of you

meanwhile other lanes can go willy nilly

yes Im still mad about enchanters getting locked in prison with sometimes dickish adcs while everyone else can roam free

I mean I guess it's fine to do so, but forcing your lone Ashe into a 1v2 just because you wanted to help a solo laner who seemed completely fine doesn't scream the word "I'm Supporting" to me.

There is no rule.

The marksmen generally need more help in the laning phase. Marksmen and support also go bot to secure drakes as much as possible. Rift Herald and Baron come later, and top laners usually need more time to become effective.

It would make the game more fun if people played different types of comps and arrangements. But you should always tell people in the lobby that you plan to play off-meta.

Unfortunately, bot players have become spoiled to people playing around them so that they can carry, and so many of them are whiny and call "troll" whenever the game isn't perfect for them.

even worse when you die for them then they just run back in a min or two later to die solo and still flame you for that somehow

Not technically against any rules, no..... but I would just make sure your team is cool with it otherwise it could come off as trolling/being toxic since support bottom is kinda expected when you take that role. Know what I mean?

morg and lux are mages first support second since they only have 2 ways to help via bubbles and snares

lulu got mega gutted from wandering all over other lanes and lost her ability to share ap

Karma is more of a mage with her dumb poke even though her shield and tether are nice

Everyone else is WAY more level dependent than an ADC. Also most ADCs dont solo lane well. Thats why support goes with them.

If you have a vayne top and swain bot or something, its probably not as bad as if you had vlad top and kalista bot.
