Pokemon Conquest
I watched a play through of this game recently. Game's actually cool as hell, I like the ideas they put into it.
After watching it I started thinking how the game's system is better suited to Pokemon than the normal Pokemon games are...
For those who don't know, in Pokemon Conquest instead of the regular stats normal pokemon games have, pokemon have a "power level" that measures how strong they are. There are no actual levels in the game, and instead this "power level" increases a bit after every battle the pokemon participates in. However, there are less stats in Conquest than in normal games. I believe there's only Attack, and Defense which increase with the power level increasing, and a Speed stat which I thiiiink is fixed based on the pokemon itself (Rhyperior is slow, Infernape is fast)
To me, this honestly seems more in line with how pokemon wants to feel than the age-old leveling system where, only after "several" battles, your pokemon gains strength.
Though I don't want Nintendo/Gamefreak to remove most of the stats in pokemon for Conquest's power level system, I would actually love to see a game that's like normal pokemon, but instead of the levels, implement a version of Conquest's system. Have HP/Attack/Defense/S.Attack/S.Defense/Speed increase steadily after EVERY battle. This would most certainly be hard to implement, but it would be so cool.
Anyone else have thoughts on this?
######I'd also like to see a Pokemon Conquest 2, that game is awesome.
