A few minutes ago I submitted a support ticket. I was permanently banned for toxicity, but rather that ask for my account back, I would rather see the game improved for people like me and these are my ideas. Please read my ticket and share your thoughts. Also, I'm putting this in general discussion because I just want to hear what people think, but It could definitely go in player behavior.

Ticket submitted was as follows:

"Hello Rioter.

Immediately let me say,

No, This Is Not An Attempt To Retrieve My Account.

Anyway, here's what's up.

I was recently permanently banned for toxicity. I was toxic. Previously, I had a two week ban for the same thing. Again, I was toxic. The problem I have comes not from the bans themselves, but from the time in between the bans. You see, the two week ban I received was the first of any type of punishment/warning I had ever received. I was shocked and outraged that a single infraction could be met with such harsh punishment. Also I had the "but I've spent so much money on RP" thing you guys surely get a lot. However, I read about bans on the forums and realized this is not uncommon at all and all I could do was try to learn from my time away. And that's what I did. When my two weeks were up, I put all of my concentration into being calm, or even positive, always telling the (ceaseless waves of) toxic players in my games that it wasn't getting us any closer to winning.

I caved. Every game had at least one player who was flaming their team for feeding, flaming their team because they were feeding, flaming me for any reason. As a player who was essentially in rehab for toxic behavior, it was nearly impossible to reform and quit the flame chatting when I was being dunked head first into a sea of it in every game. Imagine a heroin addict going into a rehab center in which every person around them is doing heroin and offering it to them. I tried SO HARD not to retaliate, but these people eat away at your soul when you play enough (and I played a lot because I love the game and want to improve)

Here's the problem. /muteall is a thing, but its a diligence. I had to remember to mute everyone in every single game, and as long as I did that everything would be fine. However, sometimes people were really nice in champion select and I expected to be able to have a pleasant productive chat with them. Other times I would simply forget to mute all. But without fail, every time I left the chat open, toxicity ensued. Other players slowly started flaming each other or me more and more. I could get sucked in, or remember to mute all again. This is where I think you're going to continue to have trouble with your community.

My proposition is this: Add a function in settings to disable chat altogether. I realize that in a team based game, communication is very important. But any YouTube video about "how to stop being toxic" (and believe me, I watched a lot of those) will tell you that you have to just mute all because pings are plenty of communication. If you absolutely refuse to make a button in settings that does what players can do with /muteall because communication is too important, maybe just make it an option for those who are recovering from a two week ban.

What I really hope you guys can understand is that you are currently treating your toxic (most of them) players the way countries used to treat drug addicts and mental health patients: a disease that must be surgically removed. But you MUST see that all of us love your game, we are passionate about it (or else why bother typing so much,) and we want to get better. If you don't give us a REAL chance to change, not just a time out but a real option or strategy to help, then people like me who are big fans, buy lots of RP (I know, I know, It's just hard not to say ;)) and love your game but have trouble with ourselves will never be able to learn to be a positive part of the community.

I'm honestly still kind of in shock. I received my permanent ban about 25 minutes ago and have truly no idea how to proceed. Do i restart from scratch? do I give up and never play again? I'm at a loss. I loved this game so much and feel like a family member has died, and the grief of pulling the plug rests ENTIRELY on me. I'm just putting this ticket in because I really hope you guys can do something to prevent future gamer's with a bit of a sharp tongue from facing the sadness I currently am, and the pain of knowing it;s their own fault.

Rioter,

Help your players help themselves.

Sincerely, (and :( formerly)

Trytoxania, NA"
