What is wrong with Blind/Draft Pick MMR?!

Short story: I haven't played since like 2013 until this September. I fully expected to be horrible at this game and I am. What I did expect though was to drop in MMR to my level of bad and stay there until I improved, or forever. Yet what I have is 36% win rate and most of my games were and still are against Gold players with some diamond, plat and silver sprinkled in for colour.

WHAT. THE. HELL!

By this point I should be blissfully playing against something along the lines of Bronze - Silver and having normal games. How can I continue to get these kind of players after 2 months of playing?!

normals matchmaking is the most wonky thing in the entire world, besides the league client

You are placed with people who have similar normal MMRs. Their ranks and ranked MMRs don't matter to the normal matchmaking system.

MMR also takes into account performance in ARAMs oddly enough. My MMR is around Silver 2 because of ARAMs but I'm Probably a solid Bronze rank wise (if I bothered to get out of ARAMS, that is).
