What is wrong with Blind/Draft Pick MMR?!

Short story: I haven't played since like 2013 until this September. I fully expected to be horrible at this game and I am. What I did expect though was to drop in MMR to my level of bad and stay there until I improved, or forever. Yet what I have is 36% win rate and most of my games were and still are against Gold players with some diamond, plat and silver sprinkled in for colour.

WHAT. THE. HELL!

By this point I should be blissfully playing against something along the lines of Bronze - Silver and having normal games. How can I continue to get these kind of players after 2 months of playing?!

normals matchmaking is the most wonky thing in the entire world, besides the league client

You are placed with people who have similar normal MMRs. Their ranks and ranked MMRs don't matter to the normal matchmaking system.

Firstly, as the other guy said - it should. Secondly, did you skip the part where I have 36% win rate over 2 months and I STILL get these people. I should've dropped by now away from base MMR and I shouldn't see top 25% of players which Gold+ people are.

Gold+ is 50% of the ranked playerbase.

Also, their ranks and ranked MMRs are completely irrelevant.

It's not irrelevant. It shows their skill at this game. I doubt they have 36% winrate so they should have higher MMR than me. That's the relevance. Even if they just queued in for the first time - they would have base MMR which should be quite a lot higher than mine.

On the side note: since when gold became the majority of the player base? What was the point of iron if no one is in it? Weird.

That is not truth. If 2 or 3 people go premade with totally different MMRs they brreak the algorithm, I keep playing with Diamonds on enemy team and I get unranked silvers and Gold, and we get our butts kicked. While I know I'm talking about ranked MMR, my normal MMR can't even be that good, since I lost quite a few more than won. Matchmaking is just broken rubbish right now. And I've been playing League since season 1 on my main. I don't remember matchmaking being this broken since early seasons.

MMR also takes into account performance in ARAMs oddly enough. My MMR is around Silver 2 because of ARAMs but I'm Probably a solid Bronze rank wise (if I bothered to get out of ARAMS, that is).

I thought it had separate MMR. That used to be the case and all website show ARAM as separate MMR.
