With how much Riot loves stats, would we ever be able to get Time vs Rank Data?

I think it'll be real interesting to see what kind of correlation there is between what are the highest ranks people achieve vs how much time people spend playing the game. A discussion I was having with someone really got me thinking about this. Is there a real correlation towards just playing the game to get the higher ranks.. or does it take real dedication to getting better rather than just grinding out game after game. There could be extra data points like average time played vs rank or or games player per season vs best rank for that season.

If these numbers were actually possible, it'd be some pretty cool stuff. Because personally I think there's some level of dedication towards getting better as opposed to just playing games until you eventually get better.
