I'll also take advice. I just feel kinda confused when I look at these things. and like... is the inspiration tree even worth investing in? I just like the slow thing, but everything else seems kinda meh. which one is better the comet or the ghost kitty? I don't have a lot of time to mess with these things, so I'm interested in hearing what everyone else likes.

Ghost kitty is great for DoT, as it has a rather weird CD thats fairly short, And can proc several times before Meteor.
Teemo ADC with virtually all combinations of runes
Discovered Trundle with the turret killing rune destroys turrets quickly.
Like, VERY quickly.
I find Aery is almost always better than Comet, unless your primary poke has a slow or some other hard CC attached to it. Examples: Lux, Velkoz, etc. Otherwise, you'll generally be picking between Aery and Electrocute. Poke or burst.
One of the best generic secondary paths in the new system is Precision, taking Triumph and Coup de Grace. If you ever don't know what to take, you can't go wrong with it.

You can trade Absolute Focus for pretty much anything else there, depending on what you want your focus to be. I feel like assassins, while pigeonholed in their primary tree, have a lot of options for secondary. Also, you can pick another one of the vision oriented ones from the red tree if you prefer the utility, I just chose Eyeball Collection because it fits in with how an assassin wants to snowball.
The ADC preset is already pretty good. I'd consider changing Coup de Grace on it to Cut Down if against a lot of tanks, and Celerity to either Transcendence or Manaflow Band if I was playing a spammy ability-based ADC.
I haven't looked much at tank options, so can't help there.

Ezreal with kleptomancy is a load of fun.
Aerie does physical damage, so unless you're a dot mage and that dot cheese with aerie is as bomb as people are making it out to make, take comet for poke mages. Electrocute for champs that prefer to all in burst. Dark Harvest instead of electrocute if they auto attacks don't disrupt their combo or they can benefit heavily from having it proc after each kill.(think reset champs like kat)
MF Strut + Celerity
8% of bonus attack speed may not seem like much, but with strut being a flat bonus of at least 60, then further multiplied by effects such as Zeal, it's a fair amount of free damage if she can keep Strut up.
Legend Tenacity + Unflinching + Mercs is 55% tenacity
Everything that can heal your champ on hit or ability hits. Precision/domination.
Literally impossible to push from lane as long as you prioritize farming over trading and fighting. It was pretty silly. Two trades both laners down to nothing and tip toe behind the creeps. 2 waves later both are at full and they trade to 10 hp and repeat the whole process. If you like long long long long lane phases then that might be for you.
Tristana E + Arcane Comet. The comet travels after the E detonates, not when it's applied, so it's fun seeing the target scrambling when they have to dodge later than they expected. Fun fact: spell effects activate on both the application and detonation of her E. It's quite handy :D
Sona + Kleptomancy + Future's Market. Sona's kit is based on her spamming abilities like crazy, and her status as a Ranged champion makes it easy for her to poke opponents (especially as Support). She can literally go into heavy debt at fountain and come out of it rich in a minute, it's crazy.
Sion's W shield + Aftershock. Keep exploding this much and people will start making rumors....
