I've never played any of them.

But I want to know something... why do these games about lawyer-ing (generally a pretty boring venture for most people... myself included) look so badass? Why does the artstyle look so fuckin' cool and why do all the character designs look really sick too?

Because Japan has this way of making literally anything cool by animing it up.
