Why is my team usually much worse than the enemy team?

I admit it, I'm trash myself, my mechanics are shit, my elo is shit. I'm bronze fking 4 right now! I don't get how the matchmaking system works, but it shows that I was MVP or Ace for the 5 most recent matches I've played, yet I still lost half of them. Every game is literally win lane with a lategame or midgame champion, then have the rest of your team get stomped in lane and I can't do a thing about it because of how the champs that they feed either get fed so hard to a point that they can 1v5 or they absolutely stomp when fed, for example . So is there a way that I can increase my chance of climbing out of elo hell other than playing in duos?

Because the "Math Genius" that RIOT hired thinks that his algorithm for their matchmaker works and is fair when in reality it has been broken for years as evidenced by the plethora of one sided games that take place that RIOT numbers say rarely do.
