Workaround for the Client Crash when Loading into game [WIN 10]
The client crash when loading into a game is arguably more frustrating than playing against a fed Yi and Zed with a team that keeps focusing the enemy tank every fight. After experiencing this crash more times than I can count, I've finally come across a workaround that doesn't involve logging out of or restarting your computer and can have you reconnecting to your game in a minute or so.
**Please note, as far as I know, this workaround only applies to Windows 10 as it requires use of the multi-desktop feature, which should be present and enabled by default on most Win10 Installations. **
-
Press and release Alt + Tab until the black window selector box appears (The one that shows you window previews)
-
Select ANY of the applications you see other than the 2 league windows. When you do this, it will look like nothing happened, because the unresponsive league window is stuck "On Top" of the UI Stack. That being said, windows will have shifted its focus to another process, which will enable you to send commands to the desktop again.
2A) NOTE: IF YOU HAVE A TASK MANAGER WINDOW OPEN YOU MUST CLOSE IT THROUGH THE ALT+TAB WINDOW SELECTOR FOR THE NEXT STEP TO WORK!!!
-
Press Ctrl + Windows Key + Right Arrow Key to switch to a new desktop. Open a new Task Manager window (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) and close the unresponsive game client. If you left a task manager window open on your other desktop, windows won't open a new one, it will just shift you back over to the desktop with the unresponsive league window. Repeat step 1 and make sure to close the open task manager before moving on to step 2.
-
Close Task Manager (Optional) and press Ctrl + Windows Key + Left Arrow Key to return to your original desktop. Your league client may try to re-launch the game client for you automagically, if not just click reconnect.

GLHF Summoner!
I really hope Riot gets a fix in for this issue soon, but in the meantime, I hope this can help a couple of summoners out.
