Why are people queuing and losing on purpose in ranked?

it's happened to me twice today. Both times it was a premade. Two people are in a party, and flame the team as soon as game starts, they don't "int" as far as running up and intentionally dying, but they are letting themselves get killed, if you get what I mean. Then they BM the team the whole time. For example the second game, one was Yuumi top, and the other ekko mid, but yuumi latched on to ekko and they just ran around and kind of flaming and hit a minion here and there.

Anyways, Why do people "tank elo". Is it to get an easy climb later or something? I mean, I dont think it'd be easy. In my experience, its super hard to climb once you drop like that. One season I got wrecked and was down to 15 lp a win, and losing 22 every loss, So I dont think it's that? Idk I just dont get it.

Edit: I meant to put in that I checked the parties match history, and they do it for more than one game. I know someone is probably gonna say "they just ahd a bad game maybe" but I am 100% it was not just a bad game.

It may be the missions that force people to play on SR, solution is to add ranked to ARAM then problem will be solved.

I doubt they are, they just only play the first month of new seasons then afk 11 months, they're just that bad.

Easy. They added the "Troll 3 ranked games" mission. Some people (myself included) dont really want to play ranked and is just trying to casually enjoy the game, but cant stay away from achivements. Now this type of players are "forced" into ranked games, which some find irritating. Personally I just try to play it as if it was a normal because i know other people dont share my opinion, but if it had been with 4 mates who had the same idea of the game, we would be be throwing that shit so hard. Some of us just dont care to show that kind of respect to our teammates and trolls regardless. And afterwards we go have fun at ARAM or whatever.
