Can someone please explain what happened at PAX?

I didn't really play league for the past 2 weeks and I went to check on the board. All I see is stuff abotu PAX and sexism. Articles I have tried to read are confusing and people seem really pissed with Riot. What exactly happened?

Edit: I jsut found an article explaining it in Full Detail. I Honestly don't see the problem with Riot hosting some Women only events though. The only red flag I saw on Riot's part was the way Daniel Z Klein reacted on twitter.

But I want to have a discussion with you guys, so please don't just downvote the post because I am defending Riot, but rather comment what you're opinion on this is. Why or Why don't you agree with the community backlash?

Well remember that whole spectacle with Riot having a toxic work place for women and their employees acting like actual 2 year olds while clocked in (farting in each other's faces during meetings among other things you could expect to find in a fucking mental ward, like no wonder balancing was nonexistant, what a fucking joke of a company LMAO.) Anyways, instead of doing what a reasonable company would do and giving the employees that made the culture as toxic as it was the pink slip, they instead have a stroke of 9000 IQ and decide to blame all the males in the community for their current problems rather than taking responsibility.

A much more in depth recap can be found in a thread I made here:

Women have an equal right to fart back.

If they chose not to they are being sexist!

They hosted an event to encourage women into professional gaming careers by hosting a women/non binary/special request only seminars in one of the rooms league had at PAX until 2:30 PM. From what I've read, they also had Rioters in the hallway answering League questions. I believe I also saw that the female participation this year jumped from 4 to 400. Many voiced that they felt discriminated against by the event being for females. In a response from a Rioter, he referred to the people complaining as "man babies".

If you'd still like a TL:DR

Basically, Riot with good intentions (no one's arguing that) held a sexist panel that excluded men from entering (although there are reports they let some men in there is multiple official sources stating it was female and non-binary only until a certain time). When we tried to argue with Riot about how it's sexist and even some people made suggestions as to a better way to do this without just saying men weren't allowed we were met with being called a "Toxic garbagepile" (that one mostly for reddit), man babies, and sexist ourselves (because somehow wanting it open to everyone means taking it away from women).
