What's The Attraction To Ahri?

I don't understand the huge fan base around Ahri. Aside from being physically attractive, which seems to be the number one reason why anybody likes her, I never understood why she has this huge fandom.

In the earlier lore, she was kind of an empty character, just sorta there, not really doing anything. It wasn't perfect, but she had just enough character to actually work with. Now in the new lore, no hate I actually enjoyed reading it, I feel that they tried a little to hard to make her this sympathetic character, that she's really the victim, even though she murdered an untold number of people, with the only reason being that because she's so popular, she isn't allowed to be evil. I don't have anything against them making her a sympathetic character, all in all it was a good choice, but then I also don't why all these "fans" completely disregard her lore.

In all the fan art, and comics, and other such things, people constantly portray her as this "flirty, seductress, who also happens to be your best friend" kinda deal, keeping her positive and charming, which I feel completely disrespects her character. It seems everywhere, the fans only choose to see 10% of Ahri, while outright ignoring he actual story. Ahri is a character of mixed emotions, deep contemplative thought, she's done so much wrong, and she's trying to make it right, to forgive herself, to gain some form of redemption for all the acts she has commited. In the new lore, she isn't even some flirty, party girl, the lore even outright stating that she used magic to ensnare people, along with her looks, not by having a charming personality.

So, are the fans just so obsessed with how attractive she is that they're willing to overlook all the character development she's gone through? Ahri literally killed her lover, and felt so guilty afterwards that she tried to rid herself of the memories of ever doing so. Are you really going to overlook that, and still say she's just some fun, bubbly girl? I just hope to god she gets a new VO soon so people can get a taste of her real personality.

If you take in the lore correctly, she is an endangered shunned magical species that is on the brink of extinction. If you wanna party being a Vastaya, you either are unaware of your current status, high and optimistic as hell, and charming...Yeah I know it's Rakan. He is surprisingly sociable unlike all the doom and gloom ahri has.

Ahri probably (I only say probably for the .0001% chance I'm wrong) has more fanart [lewd or otherwise] than any other two champions combined, which has always baffled me. Sure she's an attractive character, but she's far from the only one in LoL, so I don't really understand the obsession either. Perhaps it's just that she has a more active/outspoken following than most, but not actually more overall? Couldn't tell you.

Artists tend to edit the personality of characters and sometimes also the world they are living in. That happens in fandoms all the time and doesnt mean that they dont care about the actual story of the character.

Here why I like her

Gameplay She is an allrounder (CC, true dmg, high mobility, sustain) Her kit is simple but that doesnt mean that she isnt able to perform flashy play if the player has enough experience.
Appearance Cuteness of Nekos + "League of Chicks"-sexappeal + Korean folkslore = an aesthetically highly appealing character You can portray Ahri in a lot of diffrent ways due to her design: Cute, Serious, Seducing, etc.

I know this is not the most accurate description for her appearance and probably also a little bit offending for other Ahri mains but I suck at english and that is best I can provide. :/

Having an extremely large fox tail bigger than your entire body(?) is antithetical to seduction.

Your face and your figure can be as nice as you want but really? You can't see anything but a large mass of fur when behind her?

It instantly rules out any rear entry positions which kinds of kills it for a large number of people...

So yeah I don't get it either.

Cute champ. But after that it's the play style, she's medium difficultly to play, her ults pretty good, fits most team comps and she has some decently skilled tricks to learn(E+flash) so she's worth 1 tricking.

I genuinely enjoy Ahri for her kit. She’s got such a unique kit and I just love her play style. I tried her out when I began playing mid lane, along with champs like Ori, Syndra ( back when they were super meta in season 6) This last season I’ve been an Ahri and, less so lately Azir one tricks. And to top it off, Ahri’s in a good spot from her recent buff

I’m an Ahri fan because of lore, and play style. When I started playing the game, I had no luck in mid lane. None of the characters I found were fun, and I was awful at it. I didn’t want to buy Ahri because I thought “yea she’s the anime chick. I’m keeping my distance. Then I caved and played her, and had so much fun. She’s still my main mid laner.

Her other features are somewhat average.

Her gameplay is also a bit too straight forwards for my tastes, but still better than most.

big tiddies, animal ears + tail and her old lore pretty much stated she "sucked the life energy out of you". That her lore got changed right now doesn't stop people from playing the champion, or jerkin it to her.

I personally get tilted playing immobile mages every now and then because it feels like i am moving at negative speeds compared to the competition.

Ahri is quite satisfying to play at those times, especially now that most teams rarely have a tank as a frontline and often opt more for damage.

Bruh, have you ever had friends who only think with little head? There is no rational thought, no matter how evil she is, they will blindly worship her. Just like in real life.

probably because she is one of the older champions, people typically stick around some of their old favorites. That and she was the MOST sexual character at her time of release (now dwarfed in comparison,) Which teenage gamer boys and girls like.

That and i dont know what it is with the half-animal, or animal-like abilities, girls. But it is a really common trope.

its just because shes the only fox girl in the game fox girls are just very popular in anime i like fox people "Kitsunie" as they are called in fire emblem but girls just dont do it for me so thats why ive always found her overrated (not that i dont love the aesthetics) her character is too preachy for me im more into champions like Swain Syndra Viktor

People like attractive things, das all. Man is also is more visual than woman, so like ya. If the woman's look isnt that great, or her style isnt your type, ehh, most likely the guy wont even come near the girl. So ya.

Ahri looks nice, and that is really the only reason.
