Rank Decay System

Hey Riot,

Been playing this game for 10 years now since when we had like 25 champs.. bought Annie cause it was the cheapest (800 LP or something?) and have been playing it ever since.. like 8000 games.. If gangplank was cheaper at that time, I may have been playing that champ until now...

Anyways, I'm wondering if this Master/GM/Challenger decay system is a solidified matter.

Now that I have a job and family (unlike 10 years ago when I was in undergrad), it's often hard to bank 10 games and avoid the decay (which I have to say is pretty steep.. 250LP/day!!).

My thought/suggestion was if you would consider making the 'bank' to be bigger... like 30 games (for 30 days?). The fact that A decay system exists itself makes/forces people to play regularly, thus avoiding someone "sitting on a rank". Frankly, I'm not sure if there is any real downside to making the bank bigger (or vice versa- any benefit to having it smaller).

Thanks for your consideration. Thanks to anyone who promotes discussion.

Totally agree that, 10 days is too few for maximum, at least 30 days is reseasonable, considering that we do have to play 30 games to get 30 days off... Not everybody lives in league of legends man.

I wonder if they did it not only to prevent you from resting on your laurels, but also to make sure there are enough people playing in the highest elo? Either way it's way too extreme and unreasonable. Players should have the option to not play league every day all day. Like if they went on a two week vacation or something, they will just lose their hard earned ranks just like that? That's tough :(

It's already hard enough to climb, there's no reason to force people playing every day... It's supposed to be a skill-based game, so if someone plays less than the others they should lose their edge and fall down in rank as well...

I agree, really makes me not want to climb to master, grandmaster,or even challenger if that means i have to play all the time or else i will decay 250lp.

Many of us started early (me in S1). Its been a long time, and now we have responsibilities.. 30 days is I think a long enough period of time to be able to play atleast once. Even tho sometimes you just cant.

I'm all for increasing the capacity for banked games at Master+.

Anything beyond 10 games would be beneficial.

I think players deserve to be able to go on a 2 week vacation and keep their rank.

yep totally agree

if u are not playing for some reason (who knows), no one want to see a decay happens to your account when u come back. Such a passive thing.

Try something new to keep players active, but not like this "Decay control".

30 days is a good choice tbh.
