Looking for a strong AP top laner to climb

I am Firelion22 and I am in bronze 3. I started League of Legends in February this year and now that its almost season 7, im getting ready for next years climbing. I like to play a lot of mid lane but due to the new sistem i have to have 2 mains. Since im trash at jg and sup, and i can only play Ezreal for adc Im looking at top lane. So i want a mage top laner thats strong and does good damage. My favorite champion for the mid lane is Syndra and im leaning towards using vlademir top. So basically I want the advice of people less noobish than me on what champion is a good AP top laner.

just play a top lane tank and get good with him if you want to climb, most people think you need someone who does a ton of damage but in fact having a tanky champ top helps the team way more in teamfights and should win you more games.

Its not exactly what youre asking but if you want to climb as a top laner thats your best bet.

Mordekaiser He works especially well against unorganized players and those who underestimate him

Probably Chogath is your best bet. New Ryze is pretty hard to effectively use and Teemo isn't really a caster in the same sense.

Jax does AP damage but he isn't really a caster, just an auto-attacker.

Well, I would say Swain but I haven't tried him since recent nerfs.

Kennen He has dmg, movement, stuns, and good scaling

Swain is pretty good but his mana dependence can become a problem, especially if you are on the Red side of the map so you can't really get blue buff.

Okay so Kennen is definetely on the table. My only reason not to use him is a good friend of mine one tricks kennen and we sometimes duo. As for cho gath im not a huge fan of him. Swain is fine except im pretty bad with him. If you think Mordocaiser, i tried him, i fed like crazy.

Rumble is bad pick in low elo, he is hard, he also shines in teamfights which are not very often there and is punishing hard for mistakes.

Try Zac top

sustained like vlad, ok burst against squishies with decent base also full tank which your team will likely need

I have around the same amount of games as you and am G5. I would not bring many apps top except for: Syndra, Vlad, Swain, Rumble, or Kennen. In most cases aps are better mid.
