New Aatrox's early game is so strong he could easily and completely sodomize champions like Pantheon, Darius or a decent Yasuo. Learn to respect his damage and stickiness. Laning against him while not understanding his kit is like getting a rim job from a freight train.

Sure, his damage doesn't fall off that hard as the game goes on like other lane bullies and he provides a decent amount of CC in teamfights but outside of lane he's kind of just a scary looking ostrich without proper setup.

After his first Q is gone there's no point in fighting him unless you have range since getting up close would just be suicide. He can hold each Q for a maximum of 4 seconds so unless you can fight him at long-range it's best to wait out the 8 seconds before you trade with him. Note that his Q2+E has the same range as his Q1 by itself so engaging after Q1 is generally just a bad idea and that each Q does a shit ton more damage than the last.

Also pay attention to his passive, you'll know when he uses his passive when he thrusts his sword instead slashing(and it has a distinctive sound). Even if his Q is on CD the %Max HP damage on his passive hurts. In the end you have a 8-4 second cooldown to demolish Aatrox in a trade when his Q and passive are down.
