Key Drop Rate Lowered..?

Yes yes i know after the 'monthly' reset you will finally start earning keys again and then it's linear and you earn less and less until it's nonexistent until the reset. However, this month I seemed to have gotten only about 3 MAYBE 4 key fragments within the first 2 days of my reset (which was about 2-3 weeks ago) and I have not received any since. I really enjoy earning something when playing and I do play quite frequently but I feel as if the rate must have been lowered because I cannot seem to earn key fragments no matter how many people I play with, what game type I play, or how well I play. I'm not restricted (that I'm aware of) so what gives? I never get to open chests anymore and it took me a month to finally get enough essence to get mastery 6 on a champ that I received my master 6 tokens for LITERALLY the first two games I played with him after the new mastery release. I feel like my account is bugged because I'm a very patient person but I have not earned a key fragment in forever and I play this game probably more than I should. Help?

Right it's hard to complain about free stuff but only if it's the same for everybody. If we're getting screwed over because of a bug or something though, then there's a problem lol I just want muh lootz

IDK I've gotten about 8 since my reset on the 11th~. I only expect to get 9/12 a month. Itching for that "last" box.

Right now the best you can do if you actively play is notice when suddenly you get a few key frags easily. The first few after reset have very high droprate after wins. Supposedly you can get 12 a month. It gets pretty rare after 8 ish.

I think they reset every 28 or 30 days.

I like Overwatch's system better since the lootboxes are guaranteed. League should implement something like that rather than an RNG based thing.

Overwatch is also a 40$/Euro game, don't forget about that.

Plus, you only get shitty sprays anyways (and the fact that you can buy those boxes is a bad joke. I love the game, but their business practice is awful).

Blizz didn't even want to put a progression system in in the first place, but people wanted it. If anything we can at least praise them for listening. People wanted it, they got it. Complaining about it is like deciding to jam your head in a nest of angry hornets and trying to pass the blame.

At the very least they didn't make it pay-to-win, nor are you obligated to buy the boxes. The option is there if you want it

Honestly it's just the RNG of it that pisses people off. If you want a certain skin or spray paint, better hope you can win the Lottery. Most people would be happier if you could just buy certain things with real money, it's not really that hard to understand.

On another note, I'd recommend to anyone to listen to Blizzard's Announcement on Competitive. it really sounds like Night and Day compared to Riot's policy regarding Ranked.

I have 6 chests and I've gotten 2 key fragments the past 2-3 weeks, and I won 7 games in a row no key fragments.. ritopls.

I mean honestly, people should be able to open all the chests in a month but i seem to be able to only open 2 max, and that's generous.

There should really be an indicator of when the next key is available like with the chests. It's frustrating as hell right now.

look I haven't read the entire thread but here is how drop rate works; *you can get keys at a lowering rate throughtout the month, and there is a "soft reset" about once a month. typically you will be up in boxes by a couple over a complete set of 3 keys. During this soft reset you will have a much greater rate at which you can obtain keys. So if you play solo, dont worry you can open all the boxes and have a couple unopened (obiously rito wants to have a few hanging so that you will have some insentive to buy keys.)

Uh, that's because chests have to be earned.

In order to get a chest you have to finish a game (not sure if you have to win) with S grade on yourself or your premades. However, the trick is that you cannot earn more than 1 chest on a single champion per season. You can see if you got a chest for a champion in the champion list - it will have a border like this one (along with the chest icon if you hover over it):

It is how they set up the chests You get one chest a week 4 chests a month 48 chests a season But you can only earn 1 chest per champ per season So after this season ends you can start earning chests on certain champs again

If you know a friend who constantly gets those S+ then group with them and pick something you normally don't play. Technically you don't have to get an S-, S, or S+ for the chest as long as someone in your party did,

I've only rarely ever gotten more than 3 key fragments per month, you must've just gotten really lucky in the past and are more on a normal rate this month.

I have gotten I think 4 this reset, which seems weird because I remember opening 2 boxes last month that means I had at least 6.

Just a reminder, You only have a chance of getting key fragment when you win a match, If you didn't then you can't get one. Also, Maybe up the key drop rates. Do it Rito

Edit: Already got 6 key fragments in 3 days. All Solo. Then 1 match with one friend and got one more. //Got corporate Mundo worth or nah?//

Don't know about you guys, but if you play between Summoners Rift, ARAM, and Twisted Treeline, chances of getting them seem to be higher. I've gotten enough to make 2 (almost 3) keys this month

I hate how much easier it is to get an S in the game than it is to get a fuckin key, i constantly have 3 chests and 0 keys

I don't think so. If there are no changes about this listed in patch notes, it's not changed at all.

Earning keys is not a linear progression. The first few (after a reset) can drop frequently in a few games but the more and more you play, the less and less you get. That was put in there because Riot didn't want it to become a hardcore grind.

Not sure if this is true but for what it's worth I just got a key frag. They're not ordinarily meant to be easy to find. If you did have better luck previously, I think it just means you had good luck.

We were promised that we could earn Key Fragments so we're gonna be concerned when Rito messes with the formula. Certain People do pay for Keys and that's fine, but we were promised we could get chests and keys for free so if something happened to that, we kind of have a right to complain.

I went from getting nothing but chest to getting nothing but keys after I took a small break from the game.

Based on my experiences playing league and getting key, I only get 3-5 key every week, after that i won't recieved any key until the following week. I guess receiving keys is limited and was obtainable weekly like hextech boxes.
