maokai is still strong but has a bit of skill cap to be truly a god on him. riven has a high skill cap to learn her combos and master her. j4 is a good champ but not great in all match ups.

maokai is very versatile to any team comp, can play top, jung, mid ( vs ap mages or ad assassin being tank with cc is good it works ) or support j4 can top , jungle and old meta was j4 mid... ( use to be a old pick as support )

riven is flat out a solo laner carry.

i am a maokai main... i still dominate games with him , for my last game

This really depends on a lot of things (your play style, MMR, etc). I looked you up on OP.GG and I gather you have a relatively low MMR. In my opinion, Yorick is very strong in low ratings, because he isn't played often and people generally don't know how to play against him. His kit is very simple and beginner-friendly, and he works well in a variety of team comps. Swain is also good if you want someone AP/tanky. Same thing here, he's a simple champion and people generally don't know how to punish him (item 3123). Wukong is another strong but simple champion.

TL;DR: Yorick.

I would reccomend maokai for the sustain off his passive and the ability to stick on their adc, and your ult can really mess up a teamfight. he does take much skill tpoplay well though. J4 is my second choice.
