SoloQ MMR system

How come there hasn’t been an individual performance incoperated in to the soloQ MMR ranking?

We’ve seen the devs are able to base your solo performance on a champion in a game with the champion mastery system e.g getting an S+ on a champ but still losing the game, losing LP and In then lowering your MMR even though you infact and according to the role and champion parameters from riot performance wise you played to a high standard.

Has there never been a plan to somehow adapt that to work on solo MMR, so if you lose but are rated an S-/S/S+ you should be rewarded with more than just a champion mastery in my opinion. I don’t know the ins and outs of how’d you’d implement it but I can’t imagine it to be extremely difficult. In my personal opinion I think that would improve the game, as people wouldn’t be as bothered by the likes of afks/ trolls etc as their individual performance for the team will be rewarding in the way of improvement of their soloQ MMR and still gaining Elo.

Just a though I’ve had for a while, would be awesome to see other people’s opinions on it and any improvements that could be made to the initial idea, I’d also like to possible hear from one of the devs to see their opinion on it if it would work or not etc

WHY DOES THE SYSTEM NOT USE KDA AND OTHER SIMILAR STATS INSTEAD OF ELO/MMR SYSTEMS?

League of Legends is a team game and teams win or lose games together. We don’t want to impose an arbitrary system of rating players on performance because then the best way to beat that system would probably be to get good scorelines, rather than helping the team win.

We want to reward good play that ultimately leads to a win, no matter how small their impact may seem. Supports sacrificing themselves to save their ADC, tanks zoning three enemies in a teamfight, or assassins diving the backline to blow up the carry are all examples of plays that may not make a great statline but help get the W. Some champions have unique playstyles (think Singed/Nunu) that would be tough to measure, and their mains may not be graded appropriately based on their play.

You should be rewarded for different types of achievement and impact, so we’re always looking at new systems to surface cool in-game plays (like vision score or unique missions) that aren’t necessarily reflected in KDA or win/loss ratios. We also want to try and give you ways to express mastery across different positions. What sorts of different ways would you like to see progression in League? Let us know!
