Do you find Dodging to be Toxic

I want to delve into the ideas of the community or at least the non aggressive community to see how people feel about this.

My personal opinion: yes I find it toxic in certain instances not simply because they are breaking rules but more in the sense that a lot of the time people dodge because they don't like how the game might go and in their mind 'not waste time' when from my perspective just doesn't really want to try to win. Now that may seem as biased to some and I can understand that but do try to keep in mind that games no matter how hard you think they are, are not chosen by champ select. You don't know how the other team may play heck they could be boosted for all you know you won't find out until you play. Even if you get stomped that game you may end up learning something as well and maybe even find out you yourself could have played that game differently. If you have your own constructive opinion please share I am always willing to have a friendly debate

I also realized I put this in wrong topic so I am Very Sorry about that

"keep in mind that games no matter how hard you think they are, are not chosen by champ select." Yeah, no. Most games can be decided from the champ select. If the enemy team has Aatrox Sejuani Lissandra Vayne Lulu and my team has Kayle Ivern Mordekaiser Teemo unless 2-3 person on the enemy team go afk or play with 6k ms of ping there's 0% chance we even pass the 10 min. So yeah, not gonna waste my time on that. "Even if you get stomped that game you may end up learning something" Some people have a competitive mindset. Some people play because they wanna win. If they can't win, there's no porpuse in playing that game. It's simple as that.

Dodging is an actual strategic tool in higher elo's especially, they have very useful information on programs that gives them specifics about their teammates.

Example, you have a team with 3 people on at least a 4 game losing streak. Now while it isn't written in stone that you're gonna lose chances are you're going to have a major uphill battle. Or say 3 roles are hard countered, or even 2 or 3 folks are in off roles, your likelihood of winning is pretty low considering the opposition. So while its not for everyone, 3 LP sometimes is a small price to pay than queueing into a game where winning would be extremely difficult.

Usually the only time I dodge is when there is a super toxic player on my team and I can tell immediately that he is going to troll, afk after the remake point, or flame hard. I basically only play normals so I am fine with a small 5 min queue wait before I get in champ select.

There are also a few times that I have dodged when the enemy team has a bunch of hard matchups for my team, for example I’m nasus and the enemy top is dar, the enemy bot has Lucian against my Ashe.

Dodging is never really 'toxic' per se.

Depends on the reason. If theres some asshole is saying hes going to take top even tho he got filled, and 'who cares what the real top thinks', dodging is certainly not toxic.

Really the only toxic dodge reason is if an ally takes the champ you pref'd (with true intent, not like Nasus Supp or anything), mostly only a problem when the new champ comes out (cough cough sylas).

Its the ONLY way we can have some control over who we have on our teams.

Im not going to play a game with Veigar Jungle. Its a 95% chance of a loss.

I didn't put a fifth member because that would be me and i never troll pick. And whatever support i may pick in that comp that's either a Braum or Blitz or Janna or whoever u want it would not make the difference at all. The game would be lost from the champ select. All of your "oh but if.." don't change the fact that the enemy team has a x10 better comp and will most probably win. So why exactly should i waste around 20-25 mins of my time on that when i can simply wait 5 min and try again a new game where i have a decent comp this time? Why should i?

camille on the enemy team? that's a dodge from me, not because I'm "toxic," but because I really don't want to end up with a broken monitor.

autofilled jungle as a ryze one trick? I'd rather not lose and get reported because of some half-assed autofill system noone asked for.

fix the problems that plague champ select and then we'll talk.
