Plat 5 plays in low Bronze game. Learns a lot about low elo and strategies to help you win!

So i recently hit Plat 5, which, by most people's standards, is still low-elo. But that is besides the point. I don't really main anything but i just play what i have success with: (vayne thru silver, low gold and lee sin into plat.) Anyway, I created an account and got it into bronze to play with my friend. Anyway, we get into game, blah, blah, blah. 25minutes in, im 21-5 on lee sin and I cannot win the game. I play 2 more and im extremely fed but cannot end the game in any of them. The normal method of ending a game, grouping, catching someone out, and fighting 5v4 or pushing inhib, getting baron, and grouping doesn't happen in bronze. It really was a blood fest where the team with the more "op" champion (since no one was skilled, it was just auto attacks and occasional spells) would win the fights and grab a tower. This process would repeat over and over with no grasp of gold, item builds, map awareness, objective awareness, or anything organized in general. So I've ranted and you want me to get to the point. Well, from the looks of things, the only way to win in bronze, is to just be so mechanically superior to the rest of bronzies that you can basically 1v4 leaving the last member for the rest of ur "useless team". So "elo hell" doesn't exist, it is just a place where strategies that i was so used to in gold and plat don't apply. You cannot group, catch their jungler out, quickly baron and snag an inhib. In bronze, u ace their team over and over until your team blindly walks into their base and destroys the nexus.

SO TLDR (in order of importance):

----Pick a champ your good at that you enjoy. ----Improve mechanically every game. Although game knowledge is essential in the long run, the point of game knowledge is for your team to be on the same page when things happen so you can coordinate a push/play. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN IN BRONZE SO DONT WORRY ABOUT IT. ---Ping, Ping, Ping, Ping, Ping, Ping, SPAM YOUR PINGS ---Mute everyone (I cannot even fathom how toxic everyone is) ---Pick a champ that can 1v1, 1v2, 1v3.... ---Pick an AD champ that can push very well.

I do not mean to offend anyone in bronze, but the fact of the matter is, that bronze and low silver i suppose, is a totally different game when you think about it. I hope you enjoy ur trek to higher elo, and of course, watching streams is the best way to compare ur gameplay to someone who is better than you.

Personally I recommend: C9 Sneaky/Gosu for ADC Oddone for JG IreliaCarriesYou/Dyrus for TOP (dyrus is way more skilled but his stream is boring) Bjergson/Scarra for MID Lustboy? for SUP (no one really streams support but i've never looked so idk)

Champions i reccomend (for bronze) these champs are EASY to get and keep a lead with Top: irelia, darius, garen Mid: katarina, annie JG: skarner, shyvana, xin zhao ADC: ashe, jinx SUPP: Sona, Annie, Blitz

Take this from a local bronze players

SO TLDR (in order of importance):

----Pick a champ your good at that you enjoy.

Agree

---Ping, Ping, Ping, Ping, Ping, Ping, SPAM YOUR PINGS

uhhhh.... no. nobody listens to pings or looks at the minimap.

---Mute everyone (I cannot even fathom how toxic everyone is)

a plat should not talk about how toxic bronze is. plat is 10x as toxic.

---Pick a champ that can 1v1, 1v2, 1v3....

agree

---Pick an AD champ that can push very well.

some ap assassins are good for bronze too... fizz

Champions i reccomend (for bronze) these champs are EASY to get and keep a lead with Top: irelia, darius, garen Mid: katarina, annie JG: skarner, shyvana, xin zhao ADC: ashe, jinx SUPP: Sona, Annie, Blitz

I disagree on a lot of them

Top: agree mid: katarina, akali, fizz, wukong, irelia... diana ok if you can land a skillshot q jg: wukong, xin zhao, warwick, tryndamere adc: tryndamere supp: try not to supp but if you have to supp... warwick, annie, maybe lux if you can land a skillshot

supp and r-adc are horrible roles for low elo because supp and adc rely on their team too much. try not to play them if you don't trust your team skills

The TLDR I got from your post was that even a Plat player has difficulty carrying in bronze. I'm fine with that. I'm fine with being in bronze until I have plat mechanics. I just wish people would actually admit how difficult it is to carry a team when no one has any idea how to play the game.

Aphromoo of CLG has a good support stream.

Elo hell is a perspective players have on the game rather than an actual thing. If a player is stuck at gold, plat, bronze, silver, blah blah blah. They're gonna call that elo "elo hell" o.o

tbh elo hell in an excuse of having a bad winrate and ad bad rank like me but when reality is that we're in low elo cuz we suck lmao and what about nightblue 4 jungle?

btw ranged adc really isn't a good choice for low elo.

my last 10 games (low elo)

  1. no adc
  2. enemy adc fed 9/15
  3. enemy adc fed 1/16 (our adc 10/12 which isn't as bad but still pretty bad)
  4. nobody fed
  5. our adc cait fed 2/11. i was warwick supp and managed to carry 12/7 (see, warwick supp is good)
  6. not bad, enemy jinx 14/17, which i guess isn't considered feeding but still not optimal performance
  7. our adc 8/13 also not bad, but not really carrying as an ad carry should
  8. first really good carrying adc, ashe 24-13, enemy kog 15-13. 1st time adcs in my game have a positive kda
  9. draven fed 6/13, lost lane to melee adc AD akali 21-18 (see, melee adcs perform better than ranged adcs on average in low elo)
  10. enemy sivir 4/12, varus 7/9, both negative kda

So in 10 games, only 1 game has adcs that have a positive KDA

Yeah I've been trying to tell this to one of my friends for a long while now. He was stuck in bronze 5, the very bottom of the barrel, and back before there was a limit to who could duo Q and who couldn't based on tier differences, I used this account and it DESTROYED my MMR, like a win now gets me 15 LP and a loss takes away 21 LP even though I have a very good average KDA and above 50% winrate :P I was having the same issues as you, I'd go something ridiculous like 20-2-5 on my Rengar, but my teams (friend included!) refused to help me push anything, and I had to solo most dragons after I personally set up all the vision I could on my own (dragons at this time were just for gold, no aspects or anything yet, so early ones were far more important for leads).

I then refused to play with him in ranked while I tried to fix my MMR, and then the limit on duoQing was added in. So I made a smurf and quickly got him to 30 and got my main champs for each position and a few more rune pages as well as all the basic runes (yes I used some real money for RP, I just wanted to play with my friend :P). I then just played carry champs with good teamfighting, Yasuo mainly, top and mid, then Udyr in the jungle, and I then would just push lanes and keep up pressure and continuously catch out enemies roaming around on their own. I'd also never be too risky and I rarely if ever grouped (since in bronze that works against you 50% of the time), and I'd always opt for getting more objectives over going to help my team out, cause even if the enemy team won a 5v4 and lost no one there's a strong chance they wouldn't push for the right objectives if any at all, and each time I got something I was getting closer and closer to simply applying far too much pressure for a bronze team to handle. Take an inhib away from a team of bronzies, then go to the opposite side of the map and keep that pressured (without going too far up on your own so they don't collapse on you by chance), and dangle a sloppy 5v4 teamfight in front of them in the mid lane, and I often ended up with another inhib. Once two are down, you win, they can't handle it most the time.

And yes, ofc mechanically I was far superior to everyone I was against so taking out a single opponent (as long as it wasn't like a Riven my top Gnar fed to hell and back again, they'd eventually leave to fight more people since I wouldn't and then I'd take the lane), and my cs'ing far surpassed anyone else's, so even if I wasn't getting fed on kills I was still making more gold then everyone.

My friend is now silver, and I don't play that account anymore cause it doesn't have that many champs and I can play with my friend on this account now lol The moral I learned, there is no such thing as elo hell, but low elo is not a team based game anymore, it is very much a single player map conquest game, and not much more.

P.S. Those strats do not work once you rank up a bit, for any bronzies who want to give it a try, just keep in mind eventually you'll have to actually play as a team or the enemy team will just rock you.
