Shen's new W feels underwhelming

When you compare Shen's new W to the rest of his new kit, it feels like something arbitrary, that could be replaced with something that didn't make him vulnerable to spellcasters(Ryze Chogath Kennen etc.) , and other people that use their abilities on a regular basis(DrMundo Maokai Darius etc.) . It could be just me, but it feels boring, and counter-intuitive to what lane he was designed for (top). It trades off sustain, which made him a viable pick in my opinion, for something that doesn't fit his overall design. I'm adding a poll to see what everybody thinks. (Don't kill me if I'm wrong, this is all personal opinion.)

tl;dr: The title says it all.

I agree that it is very confusing, and does not help him at which is even more puzzling. And for those ho say he is a support, his ult was not intended to be used as a support. Can it be done? Sure, but what is the point? Also, his q does little to no damage. His e is the same from what I understand, but IMO they have really hurt Shen.

If anything I feel it adds meaningful counter play. Now we know what champs to play if we wanted to bully him in lane hard

W makes a massive difference in trades during the lane phase. Even ability users like Darius heavily depend on their autos to supplement their damage and if Shen outright ignores a couple of them he WILL win the trade.
