It is unfair to start with 0 LP after being promoted, and lose around 25 LP after failing it.

You do know that if you get promoted, you have a 3 loss streak you need to hit to drop back down right? Losing 25 LP at 0 LP is the best thing you can have as long as you win the next game as it is essentially a free loss that cost you nothing as you do not get - LP

it depends honestly. I had a time where I was demoted after losing 6 games in a streak at 0 LP (sounds terrific). But still starting with maybe 3 LP would be a relief since you're in a lot of pressure knowing that you're at 0 LP and might drop anytime.

That first lost would just lose you 3 lp and put you at 0 anyways. There would be no difference.
