POLL: More games played = better player?

So my friends and I dwelled into a discussion. Don't take ranking position into consideration, do you think a person who plays more games is better, or can say he/she's better than a person who has less games played?

if you've played a thousand games and are still silver, it means you are far worse than someone who has played a hundred games and is silver because it means you can't improve.

eh not really you could have 1500 games total but if you only win 600 of them you probably aren't as skilled as some one who's played 800 games and won 500 of them.

It does mean in-game experience, and more in-game currency, which translates to being better off overall. In terms of absolutely being a better player, no.

They've had more hours of practice, but there's room for talent to make a difference. Also, playing 500 bot games is nowhere near playing 500 normal games is nowhere near playing 500 ranked games, so the "quality" of your games matters too.

Without any other qualifiers I have to vote yes. More games means more experience and generally we improve through experience. Obviously some people plateau at different levels than others, and some people learn faster than others, but you didn't give anything else to use except for games played.

Someone who plays 50 games and learns something is better than someone who's played 1000 and learned nothing.

THanks for all the replies, I just wish there's a way i can see the voting poll without voting on it to keep it fair. If you guys know a way, let me know

My boards post contributes to this idea, and would help make more games = more wins for experienced players. Please read and give feedback.

In addition to all of the other very accurate comments here, I'll add one other thing:

While playing the game is almost definitely the best way to improve, there are other ways to get better at league as well.

Someone who's played more games versus someone who's memorized every champion's cooldowns for example would be tough to determine the better player. All else equal aside from those two points, the former player probably has better mechanics, map awareness, and decision making. The latter player probably is better at choosing when to trade in lane, when to force fights, etc... The net effect could go either way depending on the relative importance of each factor and the difference in ability in each factor.

I admit the above was not the best example, but admittedly it is hard to come up with ways to get better at League outside of actually playing. Spectating may make you a bit better, but it's really nothing in comparison to playing...

I agree majorly with the idea that someone playing with the attitude of learning will be much better than someone who's played more games but plays with the attitude that they're already the best.

This is a loaded question.. Generally the more games you play the more experienced you are over someone else. However,** not everyone needs the same amount of games to be as knowledgeable** about something. I would say the more games you play and the harder you try in those games could easily translate to a better player. Think about it, most pro athletes start playing at a very young age. Some not till college (football more so than baseball for example)

TL:DR not necessarily 100% the case, but more often than not yes.
