Will we ever get the Spectate feature back?

I really do miss being able to spectate games. Not just games that friends are currently in, but the section of the client that would show you 5 games that were currently being played. I feel like we've taken a step backwards since it was removed. Sometimes I'm more in the mood to watch a game than I am to play one, and now that's just not a possibility unless I want to go on twitch and watch a single person's perspective.

I really wish Riot would consider bringing back the spectate feature in full. I don't think we were ever even given a reason why it was removed. It just disappeared in an update one day, and that was it.
