Early Kill Exp

I was mid and the game started with a bad invade by the enemy team. During the invade, I got 3 kills while 2 other people on my team got assists on 2 of those kills.

The enemy mid laner got 1 assist and died.

He got back to lane with of my minions left, and I got back with 2 of his minions. When he was level 2, I was barely half way to level 2.

Can someone explain how I received so little exp from the 3 kills i got before minions spawn? I understand you share exp with teammates on kills, but one kill was a solo kill and the other 2 were only shared with my bot lane.

I have the same question. I always feel like the enemy gets level 2 before me, even when I'm making sure to be in range of minions and getting the CS :(

shutdowns give a bit more exp, the bigger the shutdown the bigger it gets. did you give a shutdown?

btw dying in lane isn't just disastrous because it gives someone gold, its not good because the enemy laner can push the wave to the tower, that's minions and exp and gold going to waste. please don't ping your jungler when they try to last hit those minions

lolwiki had 4 different ways over the year how you earn exp for champ kills. so i cant even tell you cause i didnt look at it in a long time and it never made sense

all i know is: the lower your level, the less exp you get for champ kills. at lv 1 you get like 12 exp for a kill or so. and you need what? 480 for level 2? at level 18 funnily enough you can get up to 2k exp for a champ kill. which makes no sense but hey.
