Mordekaiser pbe buffs: What poential lies within

Greetings, summors. Recently there have been more buffs to Mordekaiser as a follow up after his w nerfs and recent tweaks, which I'd like to give a quick shout out to Riot(thanks Riot!)

This thread is created with the sole purpose of looking at the possibilties of new situational build paths and reasons why these buffs are there.

Mord on the pbe:

Iron Man (Passive) Shield decay per second reduced to 1.5% from 2%

Siphon of Destruction (E) damage increased to 45/75/105/135/165 from 35/65/95/125/155

Children of the Graves (R) ghost now gains [100% of Mordekaiser's bonus AD] attack damage instead of flat 10/25/50

So. Lower shield loss rate. Perfect. Morde's shield DID degenerate too quickly to be useful against large poke. Good stuff here.

With a tiny buff to e(remember it scales with AP and AD), you have greater poke, just by a little, but this in combination of buffs on Iron Man and e, Riot has buffed Mordekaiser's shield power rather than his base health. Considering that the shield is a virtually limitless extension of Mord's base health, these two buffs together are a buff to Mord's ability to soak damage, and have better upkeep on your shield.

I noticed nothing was said of AP on ult, so I'm assuming that this is a pure buff to Children of the Grave. What this means is that if and when you build a form of AD, you will not sacrifice too much power from Mordekaiser's ultimate. This opens up a better oppurtunity to build juggernaut items and it still be viable. More importantly, even if you are behind, Mord starts out at lv. 1 with about 60 AD with no runes, so by rank one at lv. 6, it is apparent this is an obvious buff, so even if behind, your ult may deal more damage than the live version, once you get the ghost. So, you get an enemy ADC pet, that pet will be CRAZY STRONG if they were fed.

So, an early tanky AD item may be a good thing to have pre six so your ult is powerful, and build mostly AP after for extra burn damage. Also, one presix AP will help with ult burn damage, that way one may GET the ghost in order to USE the extra AD on your ghosted champion.

Build idea for when this hits live: C leaver, Rylias, Nashors, Guinsoos, Al. Swifties, Liandrys.

Cleaver: 20%cdr, 55 AD, Movespeed, health to strenthen shield Rylias: health, a SLOW to stick, and a nice powerspike in AP. Nashors: 20% more cdr puts you at a total of 40% already--- time to spam abilities. Also, the AS allows for faster q hits. Guinsoos: mixed damage to boost Abilities, Q, and AA, plus the stacking damage and AS. This means you hit q HARDER AND FASTER with each Q hit. Becasue melee gets 2 stacks on one hit, and q is also an ability, 1 Q hit grants 3 stacks for this reason. Fast boots for obvious reasons. Liandys boosts DFT keystone, and both together with the AP and new AD scaling with the ult buff will do a nice chunk of damage I presume.

What this build gives: 40% cdr, Mobility, AS, health, and massive stacking mixed damge from everything combined.

If anyone has thoughts on these buffs, thier potential for opening new viable build paths, or how YOU feel about them, comment below.

While all of these things are a wonderful step in the right direction for the Iron Revenant(or Master of Metal, as I shall remember him), but still leaves an open door for solo w. Perhaps there are plans for it, but it is not known how to approach it. Maybe it is a coding issue; solo w cant be coded diffrently without effecting duo w, which should be left how it is. Who knows.

But buffs to the shield and having a tanky AD build not give an underpowered ult is very good. Very practical, boosting his durability nicely overall.

I am not on the pbe, but in my mind this all pieces together quite nicely, and seems to be Riots way of comprimising with the Mordekaiser communty by buffing not his base health itself, but shield growth, poke, and a smaller degeneration amount.

Please, no bashing, trash talk, ect. Let's have a nice discussion amoung civilized people.

Reds and old Mord mains are always welcome to share thoughts on Mordekaiser. Your feedback is very important. :)

It's bonus AD not Total AD. That means no bonus damage from his base attack scaling. It also means no damage added from sterak's gage. Rage blade and sterak's are basically the only 2 efficient AD items left to build on morde. One won't boost his ult and the other is a 6th item meaning no AD for almost 16+ levels. Morde can't afford the itemization cost of buying flat AD items. He needs to funnel a majority of his money into defense and health early game. Hydra is to expensive to rush for the stats it gives. The ghost scaling really needs to be reverted.

I'm building item 3053 a lot of times since its passive gives a nice boon to his defenses and attack. I would remove the cleaver for it but I guess it depends on teamcomp (talking about bot Morde). Small number tweaks again, welcomed since they're buffs but won't solve much... on both sides... Morde will still feel too much oppressive or too much oppressed.

when the rework first came out I built items like item 3072 item 3155 since they gave mord stuff he should like. they worked pretty well

probably wouldn't be terrible options now, along with item 3146 item 3071 item 3748

if only he had physical damage outside autos i'd be more inclined to actually use cleaver for what it offers

Personally I've just been running item 3115 item 3100 item 3065 item 3111 Along with the CDR mastery and thunderlords decree for more trading/burst. Morde with 45% cooldown reduction right now makes him in some circumstances amount to being immortal. Cause his e will have a 2.75s CD and w being 4.4s along with q being 2.2 and ult being around 49.5?

With various substitute items depending on enemy team comp item 3083 item 3143 item 3742 item 3056 item 3102 item 3060
