How to deal with Pantheon as Wukong?

Or I suppose any melee AD top laner in general? I had a match last night (Normal Blind) where it felt like Pantheon was basically free to bully me the entire laning phase. Any form of retaliation would be blocked by his passive and I could hardly farm because of his poke.

I had a similar match a couple days ago. Same match-up (Wukong vs Pantheon Top Lane). I was being bullied early on, but once I reached 6 and got my ult, I was able to virtually win every exchange. However, this one from last night, that wasn't the case. This player knew what they were doing more so than the one I fought in the previously mentioned match, so he was already fed enough (Level 8 when I reached 6) to survive my onslaught and kill me.

It had me pretty upset, to be honest. I couldn't figure out what I should've done differently. That's why I'm here.

When I'm facing Pantheon (or similar champs, I suppose) as Wukong (or any other melee-centric AD Champion), how should I approach the situation so I don't end up being a detriment to my team?

Just don't feed him kills and you will be more useful in team fights. You don't need to beat him in lane.

But wouldn't that still put me at a disadvantage? What do I do to still be able to farm and prevent him from having a field day up there? If I just back off, he'll still be fed because he's farming minions in lane. Meaning the only time I can farm is when he's not there or under towers (if he's not poking me with that spear or dives).

All of which would still make me a detriment to my team, yeah?

I didn't have control over that. It was Blind Pick in a random Custom match. I had no idea who or what my opponent would be.

If you and Pantheon are on the same skill level, he will beat you. His passive is amazing for trades against you, so all you can do is come back lategame and farm near turret early on.

dont think its possible. hes broken as shit but its ok cuz "mana costs" spamming idiots think flask isnt good for him. just pray to god he doesnt get the jungler on u as well because gl being useless as shit. point and click champs always dominating. ryze and panth skill lyfe

Out play him, wukong has one of the best kits in the game, or one kinda stupid option... Get an active item that has some range that can proc his shield before you go in on him. Then once in get ready for his stun, avoid with your dummy get behind him then and whack him on the head.

Fyi if Shaco can gank a pant easy so can you.
