I've been playing Akali recently, and I really like the fact that I feel like I can build totally situationally. Are there any limits to what I can build? I always grab a gunblade, but other than that, I might build a spirit visage if their team has high magic burst, or even a black cleaver against armor. Could someone just give me some general tips on when to build specific items?

Alright. Here is your How to Improve at Akali homework and I am your strict teacher. You are to figure out and hand in the answer as to why building Black Cleaver on Akali to deal with the enemies' armor is a dumb choice. No copying from other students.

(1st item if going against an ap laner)
(1st item vs ad)

(vs heavy cc)
(pretty strong, specially if they have no magic dmg so no need for abyssal)

(if you need to be tankier)
You can also go bruiser on her and might just be a lot better so you're not just a walking ward cause akali = trash.
gunblade thats your first item.sorc shoes.then you go zhonyas or scepter (depends on situation).DC,ludens.and last Ga,void staff ,qss (depends).

Gunblade. GG. lol. But also getting a zhonyas + abyssal scepter will give you the extra resistances/defense you'll need while being in melee range. Also....rylais is really useful on akali cuz ppl cant run from you once you go in...perma slow. Lich bane for added insane burst....but its a niche item. Dont use it if youre not going to use it properly and proc it atleast twice when you go in on someone. Her Q-AA combo makes it really easy to proc tho
My typical Akali builds are
Gunblade Sorc shoes Lichbane Rylais or Ludens Abyssal scepter Rabadons
Or
Gunblade Licidity boots Ludens Abyssal scepter Lichbane Rabadons
Or
Gunblade Zhonyas Lichbane Sorc schoes Abyssal scepter Rabadons
All these build in respective order. I personally use #1 the most. With thunderlords this build can easily take down a squishy with just gunblade and lichbane with just a q r q proc
Don't play akali. You might as well afk.
