Ahri's damage is really lacking compared to other Laners.

Ahri feels like she does no damage after the nerf. Even if you land your skill shot, it still feels like you are not providing enough damage. If you look at Ahri ap ratios and base damage it turns out to be: Q: 280 + 0.70 ap ratio W: 224 + 0.48 ap ratio (Single Target Damage) E: 200 + 0.6 ap ratio R: 450 + 0.75 ap ratio

In total Ahri has: 1154 + 2.53 ap ratio

Compare this to Leblanc who has similar role to Ahri : Passive: 300 + 0.8 ap ratio Q: 195 + 0.5 ap ratio W: 100 + 0.2 ap ratio E: 240 + 1.0 ap ratio R(Ethereal Chains): 400 + 0.8 ap ratio

In total Leblanc has: 1235 + 3.3 ap ratio

The differences of damage between Leblanc and Ahri ends up being:

1235 - 1154 = 81 3.3 - 2.53 = 0.77

So Ahri ends up doing 81 damage + 0.77 ap ratio less than Leblanc . Observing these two differences, it becomes clear that Ahri is basically losing about one entire ability worth of damage(Yeah the base damage is not quite there, but the ap ratio is very much there). Then if you go on to compare her ratios with other champs, it shows an even bigger gap. What I want to show here is that Ahri ap ratio and base damage is laughable compared to other laners. She does not have the carry power many laners have. Leblanc who has a stronger early game than Ahri and even stronger mobility has even higher burst damage compared to Ahri . Ahri does have sustain, but Leblanc also has stealth and a global pressure with the ultimate.

Is it not time to remove the movement speed and work on bringing Ahri up again in terms of damage? Because her damage is so lacking, it makes her hard to play as a carry. Having less damage makes her have a lot less outplay potential toward her enemy since even a simple outplay means nothing when you cannot capitalize on it. Of course, riot will not respond and will continue to let the game go, but Ahri currently feels so bad to play, if item 3146 would be hit additionally, she will definitely have no way to work even as a burst mage...

As I've said many times, the damage nerf is so unnoticeable. It's around 120 or so damage AT 500 AP. It's like 11 damage off with 100 AP. You can't claim that Ahri is just super powerless after a little slap on the wrist like that.

That said, I personally wouldn't mind Ahri having MORE damage, granted if she went back into her old playstyle where she only had a 2 dash ultimate with no delays between casts and had no Q move speed buff. The problem with Ahri was never her damage. It's just that she's too safe and boring to play and you don't really feel outplayed by her when she has so many easy ways to land her charm. She doesn't need a more powerful stormraider's surge on her Q, and she doesn't need 3 dashes. The third dash has absolutely no point to it other than it being another "Oops I fucked up" button, or just to dash on top of someone to deal more damage.

Not to mention at this rate her and Leblanc may as well be twins. There's barely any difference in them gameplay wise anymore.

no, but nice math, doing the math doesn't apply in game skill however, the fact of the matter is you are comparing an assassin to a burst mage, the only similarity is the mobility, some skillshots and that they build ap.

Assassins are meant to 100 to 0 you, Ahri can 60% - 70% to 0 you earlier on in the game which is rather poster for all burst mages, meaning when the enemy is at 60% - 70% of their HP if you full combo them as a burst mage they die majority of the time early game, with assassins its just whenever after lvl 6 (most scenarios) you will kill them if you dont miss skillshots

No, according to Riot both Ahri and LeBlanc are Burst Mages. :^)

Riot labled Ahri and Leblanc as burst mages.

nah, its the same concept of what Katarina is .. AP, mobility, burst, considered an assassin, the terms are pretty interchangeable(what makes an assassin vs a burst mage is effective range) in certain cases as these, they are just attempting to cover their own ass for what a shit-fest they made Leblanc into and they still have plans on changing Leblanc more.

Yeah! and lets nerf fiddlesticks too since all that matters is AP ratios.

Fiddlesticks 495% AP ratio over his kit? And ALOT OF IT IS AOE? Nerf this man to the ground because all that matters in a kit is AP ratios.

Ahri has had a 52% winrate for like 4 seasons because of her ap ratios.

495% ap ratio on fiddle stick makes sense considering most immobile/semi mobile mages have at least 400% ap. However, I am comparing Leblanc and Ahri because Riot labeled both as burst mages and the two share share many characteristics with each other.

Also ahri was not strong because of her ap ratio, but rather because of her movement speed boost in q.

AP ratios doesnt mean anything especially for Ahri, if shes so weak she wouldnt have both a high play and win rate, shes strong because being gank immune post 6 because 4 dashes including flash (unless you are fucking bad), being a burst mage, Q safe wave clear + free MS (recently added) , and her sustain in lane is the perfect formula for success.

AP ratio does mean something to an AP carry lol. She is a burst mage, if her ratio is not high, it would be like the difference between killing someone and not. Yes, she only has high winrate because of the movement speed on q, so I asked for it to be removed in exchange for more damage.

even with the recent nerfs to Ahri, she will still be good. period.

I'd say no, because in terms of maximum possible damage output and the ability to burst her target are both essential for an ap carry. Why pick ahri over leblanc?

MinaZer01 votes

im going to be honest with you, if you are complaining so much about ahri and you are clearly an "Ahri main" by your name, you should be playing her more, because I am far from maining Ahri, but even I see she is strong

which is why she got nerfs in the first place, they placed more of an AP ratio on the E to show clear prowess over medicore ahri players because of the spell being skillshot based.

You didn't even take into account their passives, overall kits, cooldowns, and mana costs...? If viegar had a 6.7 ap ratio on his ultimate but it cost 900 mana scaling up and the cd was 800 seconds would he be op?

Spicy Rice1 votes

I know i'm ignoring your point, but honestly, yeah, it would be OP.

The power to instantly delete someone is one of the most powerful tools in the game.

Yeah, so can Orianna, zed, fizz, vayne, syndra, leblanc, akali, katarina, and more.

No it's not. Veigar is so OP because he has insane area zoning and AoE damage on his W and E which makes him great in teamfights.

I mean Leblanc has a dash pre 6 and 30 second cool down ulti. If you take into account cooldowns, ahri will probably be considered even worse.

The thing about veigar, ahri and his kit is too different to compare. You need to compare it to champ with similar kit.

Viegar was more of a random example than a direct comparison. Not many champions have similar kits to ahri.

That is why I compared ahri to leblanc. Also, ahris winrate dropped 2% by the nerf. Hurray small nerf! Lol

you forgot that she has basically anything in her kit to compensate for that

That's why she gains fuckloads of mobility and safety.

So does Leblanc though. Leblanc has even more mobility than ahri, but she has higher base damage and way higher ap ratio.

Because LeBlanc is an assassin, not a mage.
