League of legends movement?

Idk what you would call this exactly and it's kind of hard for me to explain but i'm sure you'll know what i'm talking about. I try to move forward through minions in lane but instead of moving forward where im clicking my character decides to walk backwards because the minions are apparently in the way? I have missed so much farm due to this and I know for a fact it wasn't this bad in season 3 when I played the most. I know there are champions that can move through units but why is it so much harder to move through them now? or is it just me? It shouldn't make me walk backwards....
