Does everybody have this problem?

I've noticed about 40%-50% of the games I play in silver I get an afk or somebody DCs because they have bad internet or their computer craps out on them. I'm literally not joking if you go back on my match history of ranked games you will see i've had an afk in a lot of the games I have played. I got to gold last season and experienced this very little... Why are there so many people not taking ranked games seriously? Why do they go into a ranked match if they know their internet is lagging out? Is this happening to anybody that's gold or higher? Makes it so hard to climb when you got an afk every 2nd or 3rd match :\
