Maw of Malmortius has nerfs currently on the PBE.

Magic Resist lowered to 40 from 50 Unique Passive - Livegrip - no longer grants 25% attack speed until out of combat.

I don't like this nerf at all not because I'm attached to the item, I could probably count on one hand the amount of times I've used it this season but I plan to use it later since the mage rework is right around the corner. To be honest I didn't even know Livegrip was even a passive the item had until I saw the nerfs. Judging by how no one seemed to complain about that no on else did either.

So to any Rioter out there, please save the threads about people complaining about how Maw was unfair and OP for when the mages crush us all. I think i'm just going to take a brief moment away from league like I did with the ADC surge.

The Mages will rise again but I'll be hiding under a rock when it happens. Good luck everybody else and to you mage mains, the world is yours.

Rioters, this is the kind of message I want you guys to save.

The Mages reclamation of this game is coming boy, and we are helpless.

lol I love this feeling of doomsday because mages are finally going to have their time. Y'know, a time they haven't had since s3...

It's not like it was any better then assassins. Mages were more destructive with massive AOE abilities. I want balance not destruction. Now they'll have little to resist them with tons of power, not exactly something to look forward too.

Yeah but now you can actually play out a teamfight instead of getting popped and having games decided by which assassin can assassinate the support first.

Assassin usually are only good at taking down a target before going into a refractory period. Mages do that to the while team then go into stand by mode.

I love playing mages, Morde is my most played champion but I don't like it when things go out of control. I'd rather see Riot nerf the problem assassins then damn those in the future.

I mean the mage rework is roughly three months out at this stage. I'd rather they not leave broken stuff in the game because of something that might be broken in the pretty distant future. If Maw needs buffs in June it can get them but for the current power level of mages it's totally inappropriate.

It's best to keep it in play just like why Riot keeps Rage Blade in play because it's an effective way to keep tank tops from going out of control.

Normally Riot doesn't turn back nerfs. their changes for X reason. Only under extreme circumstances do they ever. I'd rather have a plan then a boot print on my ass.

There's a difference between Rageblade (apparently?) keeping tanks from going out of control in the present and Maw keeping mages from going out of control in the future. If Rageblade was strong because Riot was scared of tanks being too strong in three months time then your comparison would be valid but that's not the case.

Maw has nothing to keep in check right now. All it's serving to do is keep a balanced class weak.

When you stop preparing for the future you get lost in the past. I hope Riot atleast has some sort of backup plan, if they were to come out to say this i'd be fine with it but if the mages are all super powerful they'd just get nerfed again. A repeat the cycle for nothing.

Maw is an OP item, and everyone is complaining about it...

Mages will rise, thank god ADC's and Assassins can still build Maw, Mercurial, and Steraks without slowing down their DPS...
