Don't get me wrong, shen needed an update. I main shen. I don't like the new update, here is why: Shen lost a lot of sustain Shen's w saves and helps you outplay(not everyone went tank) His passive helped him do a lot more damage whilst still being tanky.

I see that shen was getting pretty old but you didn't need to change him this much. The visual was nice but he cant play top anymore. He isnt the same champion and a lot of people wont want to play him anymore. This update isn't going to make a bunch of people suddenly want to play him, so why ruin him for the people who do?

Your hard work wont go to waste rito team. We are all more than happy with the new look but please think about keeping his old q and w at least, or change his q and w to something help him lane and sustain.

Yours sincerely -Shen main

P.S bough rp to buy a shen skin. waisted money ;-;

No you don't.

please think about keeping his old q and w at least

So basically not changing his gameplay at all? do you know what the purpose of reworking old characters is?

His damage and builds will be about the same. He lost burst but gained sustain damage, and actually is more like a tank now in that his damage is percent and not flat. He lost sustain, but he gained the ability to get more shields and tank ADCs much more. Overall I think this is a healthy and good change to shen.

I won't say I'm a Shen main but he is my highest mastery. And I certainly don't agree with you on everything. First off, don't hate on the skins, they're fine. Also, be consistent - "We are all more than happy with the new look" and yet you don't like the skins? Second, sustain is similar to point-and-click and shields are more skill-based. Also, pretty much any top laner you want to face with Shen (melee ad) is going to get at least partly countered by that w, so I'd say defensively he's fine. Third, he is most definitely not the same champion: they reworked him. But he still has his ult and his taunt. The only thing they did is change laning phase - most of the rest is the same, and he'll play about the same out of laning phase. Fourth, it's an update. I'll make people suddenly want to play him, at least for a bit. That's what new content does.

Honestly, what I'm really irked about is that they removed his health-scaling offense. They should have put that on his Q instead of giving a champion whose role is to shut down marksmen an ability that shuts down tanks. He can't do either very well because he doesn't have damage for marksmen or peel for tanks. His peel is long enough for someone squishy and his damage is for tanks, but he needs at least 2 tools to counter a specific role and now he's kind of weaker.

I am a Shen player. This update looks fine to me.

His W was probably the most boring and useless shield in the game. I would only ever use it to take the edge off of poke or get my passive up faster.

His Q was also very boring. You either sustained with it or you dink'd your opponent.

I've never played Shen because he just seemed so uninspired, boring and all-around... meh play style. This rework makes me want to actually try him out.

LOL he speaks on behalf of people he does not even know. How presumptuous.

I love shen.. I love his old kit. The thing is... he was WAY too safe and its a fact. For real... you could even lane VS your counter and most of the time it end very well ( unless the jungler is fed, etc ) I love his new kit, however, they should give the possibility to move the blade and when you activate your W, maybe it give a small shield ( like his passive ) to every ally in the aura after the effect of the dodge? maybe too strong... Anyway, I think shen miss something in his new kit, not sure what.

For his Vu, im more than pleased ! His VU is incredible, I can't wait for the new splash art. Im Disapointed that they didnt give him a recall animation tho.

As I said, I miss the old Shen. Right now, I dont even want to play league cause I feel Too Sad about it. However, I know he needed it... His Rework is going in the right dirction, he just need some ajustement thats for sure.

Edit : Im wondering how strong shen AD is gonna be. Plus, he can jungle a bit faster than before.

yeah i'm not looking forward to this shen update either.. the vu looks amazing but i think the gameplay update was unecessary. it's not like shen is a champ that's out of place in league now, he still does fine in the top lane and he's amazing for teamfights. the other champs that riot reworked were champs that clearly needed to be updated because they felt out of place in league and their kits weren't as strong as most of the other champs (heim and poppy, considered off meta troll picks before their reworks) but shen is fine as he is
