"The enemy team has taken a dragon!"

I see everyone complaining about the new HUD and the new announcer but the thing that bothers me more than anything about this patch is the global dragon/Baron announcements. Like, whether you had vision on either of those objectives or not you'll ALWAYS know when they're taken, and exactly when they'll be up again. You used to have the mindset of "oh no dragon is gone let me keep a ward on it so we'll know when it's back up" and now it's just like "oh they took dragon shoot oh well I'll just ward it when it comes back up". Granted by now everyone already has a mental timer for dragon going on in their heads but still, it just makes taking sneaky dragons and quick barons feel way less special when you know no matter what the enemy team will just be alerted about what you just did anyway.

You couldn't take sneaky dragons, there was always a global sound and global effect. The enemy could also get the timer for baron by looking at the buff on your champion.

Honestly I think this change is so minor. If you had your camera near the dragon area, noise. If you had your camera near someone on the enemy team but not even looking at them when they got dragon, noise. There were so many tools and ways to time dragon that the "sneak" cases it ruined practically didnt exist.

As for baron, a sneak baron doesn't remove the timer from a team that has at least 1 player that knows anything about the buff. It lasts for 3 minutes, and respawns in 7. Wait for it to expire, time 4 minutes from there.

Yeah I'm disgusted at the change - I agree with having the in-game timer update when you have vision of someone from the enemy team, but updating it when you have 0 vision of the enemy team is taking away some of the reward of a sneak baron/dragon.

It was not hard to type "d" in chat when you heard dragon die (or saw the particles on enemy champions) and then add 6 to the timestamp. Even if no one was on the map when it died, the dragon counted on the TAB display would still show that it was taken.

The enemy team will find out you've taken Baron as soon as any of your teammates appear in a lane anyways. It's not an issue.
