The problem is not, and has never been, AP Janna. If you're going to nerf her, you need to look at the frequency of her E or her passive or her base heals / shields. Most Janna's build very little (or any) AP, so it's frustrating to see you nerf AP Janna every single time Janna becomes popular.
Edit: And they nerfed her quick cast tornado again too. Riot, no one enjoys having to charge the tornado up, it's supposed to be a reactionary spell.

I fell in love with the concept of a "weather witch," and I find it really enjoyable to nuke people with Janna, because no one is expecting it. She has the trade off of dying in two hits and long CDs, so it's not over powered, but it's definitely a fun way to play her. You should try it sometime (before Riot finally /completely/ nerfs it out of existence)
AmazingBeaver1 votesBro i played AP janna but i like tanks more so i build tanky stuff and you can pretty much survive 5v1 easy . Not that AP isn't fun or anything but not the bets choice since you have to build 40% CDR to have a good clear and sustained DMG assuming you land tornadoes on them .
Lucifer1 votesOh, I don't play her mid. I play her as an AP support. You pretty much can't take her mid unless it's a very favorable match up, because her early game is just too weak. Usually you max W first and poke with it as a supp, then rush ludens.

I do build my Janna with more AP than most for the amazing shield + heal.

or are virtually impossible to kill 
It's bizarre that they think Janna's is the problem instead of recognizing that engage supports are making her a mandatory choice amongst non-tank supports.
Lucifer1 votesIt doesn't help that they gutted Sona, so she's completely nonviable in competitive play (Janna's number one counter). Janna is the only one who can remotely deal with tank initiators from the "squishy" supports. And it's still a pain in the ass to play against Thresh or Blitzcrank as Janna.
