Orianna E - Visible radius

If we're being honest, not many people think of Orianna as much of a support class. Usually, she's taken to mid-lane, goes full AP, and goes ham. But Orianna has a great deal of utility that makes her a wonderful battlefield-control support. Granting undeniable vision with Q, interrupting channels with R, a shield and a passive boost to Armor and Magic resist on the E, along with a AoE speed-up for allies and slow for enemies.

One of her biggest problems is that teammates don't know the leash range on the E. While Ori herself gets a clear circle that says "keep ally here", teammates have no indicator at all. It would be beneficial to teammates to know how far they can go while remaining leashed to her.

I can see two ways it could work, realistically. I'm all for having it so that there's a radius around the teammate with the ball, or having said teammate be able to see the radius around Ori herself. This would be a simple fix, i think. I get that it might lead to a bit more clutter than teammates would be used to, however, so while it would be clearer, it might lead to other problems Another solution would be to give the teammate an indicator in the same style as Ori gets on her Q, a small arrow that moves from Blue, to Yellow, to Red, as the teammate nears the end of the leash. This solution would be more subtle than having the teammate see the circle, but it would lead to less clutter, overall.

I think these solutions would benefit carries greatly. In games I've played, they often engage the enemy hard, and get out of the leash range, losing not only the ability to get another shield, but skimping out on a potential of 30 armor and magic resist, often resulting in being erased. If teammates had a clearer indicator (or any indicator, such as it is) as to where the leash range is, it'd help them to not die as often as they do

I know support ori is niche at best, but even a midlaner orianna can keep allies from dying painfully with just a small change.

I like your thinking with the ally seeing the ball's range. However I do not like your idea on playing Orianna in the support role. I tried to pick it up Season 4 and it went decently well. However now she is bad for the same reasons we don't see Zyra, Nid, or Lux support anymore. They are all non tanky AP casters. Nowadays we have Naut (great tank good cc) thresh (similar to Naut) annie (hard engage and better overall damage output). They don't bring tankyness to the team and don't have the base damage and mana to be able to build support items and still do well against a CC tank
