Phantom Dancer Passive - Good for everyone, but an unnecessary build
I'll get right down to it - Not everyone in the game depends on Auto-Attacks or crit chance.
's Passive allows you to go through units, which is something that everyone can use at some point in time. There are a couple of options for how to remedy the situation - the first is by making an entirely new item for those non-AA-reliant champs. the second is by adding the passive to another item.
Let's start with one item that could use the change right off the bat-
. Supports are most likely to stick with their ADC and bail them out of sticky situations. Before their ADC builds a Phantom Dancer, sticking to them is rather easy. But if they build it, and you use the active on talisman, they're likely to dart ahead through the while you get stuck wading through the mosh pit.
Adding a passive onto Talisman would allow a support to stick to people more. the active could be changed to give that passive to the affected allies for as long as the movement speed boost lasts.
On the other side of the idea, a new item could be made instead. If there were to be a new item like PD, it could either be unique item that coincidentally has the same passive, or it could build from an entirely new item. As to the exact effects of the item, i'm not sure how it would be balanced. The final item could use the movespeed buff, but the other benefits would be more generalized. Cooldown Reduction would benefit nearly all the champs who could use it, and has been the strongest contender for its stats. Another possible thing would be to give it a boost to Armor and Magic Resist, to give a little bit more tankiness to the owner. The general idea for a new item with the Phantom Dancer passive would be a utility item more than pure offense. It could run the gambit of being purely utility with cdr and movespeed, or it could go toward tanks and give armor, mr, or even a health boost.
All i know is that
is a wonderful item. The passive gives you much more survivability in chases, and a bit more freedom when split-pushing. But most of who uses it are ADCs with good waveclear, since
gives similar stats, and ADCs are the primary people who use the combination of Attack speed and Crit chance. Giving other champions an item that helps them survive without sacrificing an item slot to do so would be a great benefit to nearly everyone on the fields of justice
