Master Yi nerfed yet can still build somewhat tanky and melt people

As the title says I faced a person who claimed first time yi and only defensive items he had were a steraks and titanic yet when he got caught out in a 5v1 and was chained cc even with lux brand and renekton doing damage he wouldn't die and the proceed to kill 1 or 2 of us before dieing himself. something has to give in either the items or on yi cause with out any resistances built you shouldn't survive being chained cc'ed and attacked by 5 people

Honestly that doesn't sound terrifying (though if it is a first time Yi, then it probably is). If he killed all 5 of you while being tanky then there's a problem.

Ofc he can still build tank and melt. Did they nerf devourer? No. Did they nerf guinsoo? No. Yes they nerfed the ad scalings on his E changing it to bonus ad but... why the heck they increased the base damage? Increasing the base damage of a spell means that it will be still effective while building tanky,... Basically the increased base damage partially deleted the previous nerf. They also nerfed the titanic hydra but tbh yi can delete people with just devourer and guinsoo so i don't really see the point.

I don't believe you. Even a tank Yi from the previous patch would die under those circumstances. All your damage champs must have been ridiculously far behind.
