This muting should mute pings too

Okay so i had the most annoying lee sin NA. Whenever i died he would always ping me with question marks and say "fucking trash" Muting should make it so that whenever the muted person pings their pings are muted too. This tilted me but i tried to refrain from using swears. (also what thing does this go under for the report menu?) Also he tries to solo baron and dies.

Muting a player should not mute pings. In this case, yes it would be helpful and reduce your exposure to toxicity. However, if you mute someone (let's just say they are a racist redneck) muting their pings can make normal gameplay difficult if not impossible to coordinate. How do you know when they need help? What if they see the enemy jungler coming to your lane and you didn't? What if they are coming in for a gank and you are tunnel visioned on cs?

Perhaps rather than muting pings, muting a player should reduce the number of pings that are issued when spammed. So rather than the five or six limit before it cuts off a players ability to spam, it would only show one or two pings. That way the muted player could still ping caution to indicate an incoming gank followed by I'm on my way to indicate they are counter ganking.

For spam pinging and comments like "fucking trash", that would definitely be harassment and negative attitude.

Soloing Baron does not have a category.

Maybe a toggle, Sometimes I have to mute people but the pings are still helpful to have

Cant mute pinging because how is he doing to communicate with you then.

I agree with this to an extent. Muting pings would be helpful for the odd game where you end up with a spammer. But for the most part people don't do that (in my experience). I might run into someone who does it 1 in every 20 games. This is coming from a low silver player where there tends to be much more tilt and toxicity. However, I do think it would be nice to have a separate toggle for that exact reason. I'm sure people will complain about "X person refused to communicate with the team or wouldn't help" because X person had pings muted. Overall I think its more of a rare occurrence so riot doesn't consider it much of a priority.

I have been calling for this recently. It doesn't need to just mute the pings though but completely disable their pings.

I would definitely be in favor of a mute option JUST for pings. It shouldn't be tied to regular mute, but as a separate toggle it would be really helpful.

Maybe have an option to mute multiple pings in a row, that way if need be they can still communicate via pings but can't spam ping

PLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEASE. I want this so bad.

I think it should be 2 options. This way if you can't stand their banter you can mute their chat but still communicate via pings. Of course there are certain cases that pings should be muted as well.
