Taliyah was never designed to support. Who cares if she's shit at it?

Just revert her back to the patch before Riot went and fucked her up. That's all that needs to happen; she did everything she was meant to.

She needs extra damage to minions again, 50% was overwhelming and a bit too much at all ranks, i wish they would see the simple solution to her balance, give her extra damage to minions, but make it scale!

Q - Threaded Volley Deals (15%/25%/35%/45%/50%) extra damage to minions ranks 1-5

She was nerfed from being good in competitive but they went way too far in nerfing her, Riot overreacted and didn't even THINK of the fact that they were nerfing a 43% winrate champion because of competitive, shifting her power would've been just fine but straight up nerfs were a mistake that the balance team need to fix

When Taliyah was released i immediately wanted her for her unique play style and her story (you really feel the like your a weaver as you play Taliyah) and the design team i believe did a very good job even if it was for a select few that understood how to play Taliyah's kit and enjoyed it. I feel like after it went to the balance team the champion changed for one her w change completely ruined the flow and rhythm that attracted a lot of players towards Taliyah. then with the nerf to her kit and to rylias she has been stuck in a hole where no one is playing her as she isn't op (which is fine not every champ needs to be op) and no one (or not many) are attracted to her character as the luster has been removed. While i think that Taliyah does need a buff i think that it is equaly important to revert vexel casting on her as that was not the way to buff her. keep the lockout of w as the e-q combo had counter play then buff the other parts of her character to make it ether easier to accomplish the plays or make the plays more rewarding. honestly even without any buffs i would still play her because playing taliyah feels so good when she had normal casting on w.

it would mean a lot to me if you could add that back. thanks

It's because her mastery curve is among the top 10 and her 125+ games mains have a 70+% winrate

Swarovsko1/4/2017, 2:28:09 PM5 votes

She needs more than just mana cost reduction. Her W is really easy to miss and once you miss it you have to wait 15 seconds, her E literally does no damage early game http://plays.tv/video/581ea95f50e6e9bd5f/poor-taliyah-rito-buff-her-plx Her ult has a shitty range with 180 sec cooldown (absurd, 180 sec is way too much for that mediocre range at rank 1), and why does Miss Fortunes gets a shit ton of ms speed by doing... nothing and Tali gets 20% ms by HUGGING a wall?

She was so fun too. rest in peace

You know what needs to go? Her passive. People marvel at her passive, but the ability alone could have been incorporated in to one of her others abilities.

I really don't know what to say about her. You look at her values and almost think she can carry teamfights and control well. But everything is just on paper, when it comes to functionality, there's nothing amazing about her. Riot ruined Taliyah's Earth Mage concept by sticking to the subclass design principles. Honestly, Taliyah had a ton of potential but they wanted to stay true to Riot's gameplay rules

It almost seem like its a sin for Controllers to have strong aoe damage. You either have more damage or more crowd control. However you look like, Controllers fall under the main category, Mages. Mages are meant to do strong aoe damage, but such is not the case presented by Zyra or recently Anivia. Because lack of damage is apparently a meaningful weakness, then all controllers who used to go mid should just play support rather than be a supportive mid now. Riot's forgetting immobility is a clear and meaningful weakness of all control-centric mages, so I can't understand for the life of me why controllers like Zyra can't have good damage.

I'm not surprised if one day they decide to tackle Taliyah via soft rework. Look at Azir, they're already complaining he does too many things well but nerf him in to oblivion, so they are finally contemplating about what to strip him of.

As a Taliyah main I think she's fine. I have (Almost) never failed to get fed with her and own the game. There are just two things that make her weak.

  1. Not being ahead. If you are equal in gold to your opponent you are intrinsically weaker. You moment you are on equal footing you are at an extreme disadvantage. An easy way to do this is her lev 3 insta kill. If you are good, you can use your q to farm minions as to also hit you opponent (efficient use of mana). By lev 3 (which you should of hit first), just flash w,e, ignite, q and most mid laners will be KOed.

  2. If you suck at predicting move paths. If you played a lot of mind lane, as I have, you will eventually learn to predict when people throw skill shots and where they will move with respect to minions wave. If you can do this, then Taliyah is the most OP champ with her w,E and kite with q.

  3. In addition, when her ULT is up, ROAM. Always roam when you can, even when you don't have ULT when you killed midland and pushed up your tower.

If you can get Morrelo and relies by 16:00 you are God.

She doesn't need a buff, only regret is that they made her vector casting, if I had not practice viktor I would probably of dropped her.

xWaters1/4/2017, 6:58:26 AM3 votes

If mastered she seems strong. Thoughts TaliyahtoMaster?

Asura Gonza1/4/2017, 5:38:26 PM3 votes

She isnt that bad but she isnt good either. Its not fair for her to stay in this state just because her full Q does good damage early game. Why? because the Q is difficult to hit the whole volley so the excuse is void. Minions kills Q damage.

if anything they should buff her Q, in fact, all her skills, but in functionality not in damage. Well, they can do something about WG Q, is too weak. Maybe increase Q range on WG? at least to poke from a safe distance.

Reduce mana costs of W and E,

improve cooldown and lenght of ult at Lvl 1 (both are dreadful),

and last but not least, IMPROVE HER PASSIVE. Is lackluster, situational and weird.

And do not underestimate taliyah support, she can set up kills really good. She is not awesome, as all-in champs and super pokers WILL wrck her, but she is not a pushover either.

LSmaster161/4/2017, 11:57:48 AM2 votes

I don't think she needs anything huge (unless reverting to 6.11 with a nerf to q bonus damage is an option). Maybe either buff w/e mana costs or lower the falloff damage on e.

GurkenatorHD1/4/2017, 10:48:26 AM2 votes

I think Riot should just revert the Q damage downfall from last patch (60 back to 50), and take 5-10 base dmg off of q again. This is meant for easier lanepushing, and if it doesnt work, add 15-20% Bonus damage on minions. For this, they can then strengthen Taliyahs E (15 - 25 base damage more, and/or 1/3 bonus damage on second e instance, maybe 5% more ap scaling) This would then strengthen her lane fighting but not really her Teamfighting and get her able to roam on other lanes. To this her W should react 0.2-0.25 seconds faster, at the moment its really obvious to dodge. For the roaming, maybe add 5 basemovespeed, she is nearly as slow as mordekaiser in fights. On R, there are no changes needed, maybe reduce cooldown by 10 seconds. Plz Buff TaliyahTaliyah

Edit: Some mana cost lowering on w/e would also be an idea.

Bisaknosp1/4/2017, 9:50:20 AM2 votes

I'd rather see her ult cd and e mana cost decreased tbh

the extra dmg on minions made her push way too fast same problem aurelion had

inplane1/4/2017, 5:06:58 PM2 votes

I find the big problem with Taliyah is that she relies too much on two skills and those are her Q and R. Q is VERY strong and that's the problem. It takes up so much of her power budget that E and W are transparent in terms of their functionality. E becomes progressively useless as the game progresses and W is just unreliable CC in general. R needs to be perfectly positioned in order to get the best results or it's just wasted.

People complain about Taliyah saying her Q is op and she doesn't need any buffs. Well that's exactly the problem with her. Her Q is too strong. She needs some of that power in her Q to be shifted into E or W. Nerf her Q and put some tweaks into E and maybe W so she doesn't have to max Q in order to survive the game.

And don't knock on Support Tal y'all. 230 games as Support Taliyah with a 54% winrate in Season 6. Not as bad as most people think.

Envoy of Melody1/4/2017, 5:19:25 PM2 votes

Why pick Taliyah who might be the hardest mage in the game if you can just pick Ahri and do 200% the damage for 200% less effort?

Malignis1/5/2017, 1:43:09 AM2 votes

I don't care if her numbers are low or high, you can always adapt your build to suit those changes, I can't stand the vector cast on her W, I'm tried and tried to get used to it but it feels clunky and inconsistent. If they change the cast type back I will play her again because despite number changes she will feel unique and rewarding again. In terms of the lockout, I think it should be there for her base spells, I preferred the E into W dynamic and it felt more rewarding, but let her use summoner spells during the lockout.

I get that riot wanted to keep consistent casting types, but Taliyah unique casting type felt right on her, vector cast does not and will never feel right.

BIackfox1/4/2017, 4:26:24 AM2 votes

Taliyah? What's what? Taliyah support? Lol

Sire Hippington1/4/2017, 6:53:49 PM2 votes

Well, how about takeing a look at her winrate for experienced players? Thalia is just in the same spot like ryze and azir. She's pretty bad for most players, but those that actually mastered her destroy on her. You can't simply buff her without breaking her for those that actually play her well.

Trenitaliyah1/4/2017, 9:20:22 PM2 votes

Oh. I was going to buy her next but...I'll pass this time.

EinarUlfar1/4/2017, 11:08:51 PM2 votes

I'm just bothered by Taliyah being moved from a Control Mage into a Burst Mage; entirely motivated (according to RIOT) by Taliyah's low playrate. They've said again and again that balancing her is a struggle, but those remarks were - to my knowledge - only made following the 6.14 patch.

Her playrate didn't really "take off" despite the changes, and they've claimed balancing her is difficult; so why not just revert and work from there?

The Trent1/4/2017, 9:38:01 AM1 votes

Dude I think you've got this wrong. A good Taliyah player can easily carry games and I've seen it done many times before. A bad Taliyah player is horrible though, hence the horrible winrate. Also it's kind of funny you brought Aatrox into this because it only helps me prove my point further. A high elo player, can't remember if he's diamond, masters or challenger, but he has one of the highest winrate out of any high elo player, on Aatrox.
