Please do not get rid of Clarity in Summoners Rift!

Just like Barrier, Ghost and Cleanse (it doesn't cleanse suppression please don't forget it), this spell has it's niches and has many uses. It is a potent early game AND late game spell, even on summoner's rift.

How many times have you read your teammates or you yourself typed "OOM!" when you didn't have enough mana to finish off someone or to escape from a disaster? How about those times when people have to go back to regain their mana after one team fight before another one instead of keeping the momentum and pushing forward if the HP is still at a healthy level? Have you ever juked someone into thinking you had no mana and then hit Clarity and smacked their faces with your burst? I sure have!

It is super useful on champions that burn through mana like there is no tomorrow such as Zilean, who is always running out of mana one way or another and the other spells are not as applicable, and Athenes is not a better choice for him over Morello's because Morello's has a much better build path for his CDR and it applies grievous wounds. To put it into perspective, it costs 195 mana for Zilean to just Q W Q, and if you do that again it will cost him 390 mana. Don't get me started on Ryze's spell rotations.

I don't see clarity as just an early game mana management get out of jail free card, I see it as an emergency mana stash even in late game when the battle is fierce and people burn through their mana pools too quickly and can't do anything because of it.

I also do not like it how Riot is getting rid of it for SR instead of tweaking with it just like with what they did with heal/exhaust to make it more relevant, it is just taking the easy way out instead of fixing or making something more relevant. For example, Clarity could be updated to reduce all cds by a second or two when used, grant reduced mana costs for a short period of time, or give movement speed boosts, the possibilities are only limited by the imagination, don't tell me that for YEARS no one at Riot thought of a decent enough update for it and then decided to scrap it because it was too hard to come up with anything but could think up of adding mr/armor shred on exhaust and a movement speed burst on heal (it used to remove grievous wounds too but then they took that back).

Here are some examples of me not doing horribly today with Zilean + Clarity:

Rito Plz, don't take the coward's way out and get rid of a spell because hardly anyone uses it and you don't want to update it, I understand getting rid of revive because of it's 5 minute long cd, but clarity still does have some uses that I think are being overlooked.

this is outrageous Taric

i use clarity on a lot of champions, as a matter of fact sometimes my girlfriend and i run duo clarity on bottom lane. Allows you to poke the shit out of the enemy laners and you only need to buy health pots. I definitely like it on yorick, brand, fizz, skarner (if im not jg), twitch, ap kog maw.... actually pretty much everyone.

i find it a lot more useful than heal (which doesnt heal shit and people use it like a weird form of ghost) and i find it more useful than ignite

One particular use no one ever notes: you give it's effects to EVERYONE nearby. Meaning if you're sieging with comp full of mana hungry champions, you can all throw all of your mana at the enemy, huddle up, have someone pop clarity and get right back at it. Clarity is disgusting underrated in ARAM for this reason.

Well Riot is keeping it in ARAM, they are going to remove it in SR.

They should probably remove it from Dominion though, unless some custom game mode makes use of it. Keep it in ARAM since it does have some potential use there.

I don't use Clarity on the Rift myself, but I did when I was sub-level 30. I don't know why Riot wants to remove it; it will punish new players and niche uses.

Wait, what? Where's the post on this happening? I've always gotten Clarity on Kassadin as a late game summoner spell, and I'd hate to see it go away.

Just like what happened to Revive, I don't see why they have to get rid of a summoner spell at all.

Did you notice how Clarity and Clairvoyance are being removed in tandem? I think it's Riot's response to the "Disco Nunu" troll tactic.

My belief is that Riot is removing Clarity and Clairvoyance in an attempt to remove any possibility of trolling in competitive. It was probably the same reasoning for removing Revive.

Assuming people won't bring Cleanse + Ghost to troll either, removing those spells won't solve the problem of trolling. Its the new phase of trolling but getting rid of a summoner spell to "prevent" it won't stop anything. It might be Disco Nunu now, it could be helicopter Hecarim later, doesn't matter because that isn't how you fix a problem.

Clarity has forever been an incredibly underrated spell. IMO even more clutch than exhaust. Picture this:

A Nami/Vayne team weaving in and out, trading damage bot. Together, they push the lane to enemy tower and have a slight health advantage, but everybody is low, and OOM. Namis river ward catches a Jungler moving in. Nami and Vayne retreat, but they're too far overextended and the Jungler and bot laners are closeing in. Nami pops clarity.

Game on.

Nami bubbles the Jungler, Vayne goes in hard, condems to keep him on lock. Nami throws a rogue wave at the approaching enemy lanners slowing and buying time. She throws her Ebb and Flow at Vayne, healing them both and damaging the Jungler at the same time. Nami uses her Tidecallers Blessing on herself to keep the laners slowed while Vayne finishes off the Jungler and moves in for the triple.

This is just one of the clutch plays I've managed to pull of while running clarity. It's a powerful utility spell that can make or break a match if used right, and was a core part of my Nami game. I always knew the active on Frost Queens Claim was broke AF (ranged, aoe, damaging 80% slow on a 60 sec cooldown) and was gonna be nerfed eventually, I can live without the mana potions, especially with the new mana regen buffs to Items and masteries, and I suppose of all of these changes are an opportunity to adapt and strengthen our overall game, but I really think removing clarity closes the door on a lot of exciting and high intensity plays. Clarity was never the end all be all of SS, but then other than flash, none of them really were. It had its place and like the other spells could be wasted or utilized to its fullest for some very strong strategic leverage.

I found it was kinda useless late game, but was decent for early game before you got your first item.

Now, more than ever it could see use because of no mana potions.
