East coast servers

Said many times before by many angry easterners (is that a thing?) but lets look at most online games.

They have the option to have their one account in multiple servers. some games let you switch around servers to either better the ping for your location or just play with your friends who live near that server. The thing is riot has this too except they charge for it.

Here's the problem with what they're trying to do now. They've talked about east coast issues for over 3 years now with no results. They're finally talking about results with no estimation date and it sounds like they're spending an exorbitant amount of money/resources to try and accomplish satisfactory results on the east coast without taking away west coast ping. All that mumbo jumbo sounds like it'll be a never ending pursuit and at most we'll see improvement but not equality.

This is a money maker. I don't know how much money they make off regional changes, but they do make money off of it. Here's the proposition. Add an east coast server instead. make it so you can shift between east and west for free. Make it so Europe can do the same on both sides of the server. make it so LAN and LAS can also do the same. Keep continental shifts the same. The biggest issue here is Ranked and Name change. Thats an internal issue your other departments can take care of without moving a ridiculous amount of hardware and making unreasonable deals with other ISP's in a desperate attempt to give everyone what they want without sacrificing a few months of a relatively hectic community. I get that you're a company who's gone far and having a little chaos in ranked and summoner name changes will anger some players and distress a relatively stable competitive community. It's still a cheaper, and end game result that after it's hammered down and fine tuned, it'll be a much better place with a much more responsive community and a much better experience on every single player.

You've had your chance to try and solve it the nice and painless way and achieved no results. We don't have a precise deadline. We have very vague estimates. Empty promises that have been circling around for over 3 years, and minor results in locations west central which is about a stones throw away from west coast servers. It's time to pull the hard plug, find a way to damage control quickly, and get this done hard and fast. like removing duct tape. If anyone can pull this off successfully and still maintain their stability and spot at best game in their genre, It's riot games.
